I have been looking for a good authentic Mexican food place for a while. I finally found my go to for delicious food that hits on every mark.
We didn't order any of the "giant" menu items but we did get to see a chimi and some giant nachos and they looked AMAZING!!
It's a small business and they have limited staff so if it takes 15 minutes to get your food don't worry, It's worth the wait.
I highly recommend the marinated chicken enchiladas with corn tortillas and the works on them.
I already can't wait to go back and get them again.
Our first time and we decided to dine in. It is a small space with about 12 tables. The menu is the typical offerings for Mexican food. We did receive a small basket of chips and salsa when we sat down. Once we ordered it took a fairly long time before our food came out. I ordered the taco salad and hubby ordered tacos and a gringo quesadilla. The food was adequate but not anything special. I did like that they offered green and red sauce. Overall it was ok but we probably wouldn’t return.
Ximena’s is simply Fantastic food!! ???? It is so fresh and tasty! Having visited south of the border several times, I can honestly say this is one of the most authentic tasting Mexican experiences I’ve had locally! There are a handful of small but fantastic Mexican restaurants in Polk county, but this one is up there on the list!!
The building is not what you would expect. Being located downtown Auburndale, on a corner, this building was once a gas station many years ago! They’ve done great converting it and although it’s not a beautiful new 5-star location, the food and quality makes it all worth while! The staff is friendly, the food is great, and they have a great selection of house made hot sauces! Make sure to try the Verde sauce! ???? ???? ????

I would give zero stars if I could. We came in and it was moderately busy (4 tables occupied no big groups) but plenty of seating available. We said we had to pick up our girls locally in an hour and we ordered our food, a wet burrito, taco dinner and a drink. 35 minutes later we asked about our food and we were informed there was still one ticket ahead of us so it was still going to be a few more minutes. We reasonably believed our food would have arrived within 30 minutes which would have given us ample time to enjoy our meal and pick up the kids. We thanked them for the update and decided to leave but they still made us pay for our drink. There were several to go orders that were placed and taken care ahead of us as we were dinning in.
Visited Auburndale for the flea market and decided to look for a place to eat. Lots of the Mexican food locations are food trucks, meaning you'll be eating probably outside on a bench or in your car. So the fact this location has indoor seating was a good first thing. Once we got there we noticed there was a lot of people picking up orders. We were greeted and found our seats in the dining room. Customer service is excellent the servers help each other out and bring out the food pretty quick and just keep tabs on everything. We loved the food! My chilaquiles were the best I've had in the 10 years I've lived in florida. Will definitely drive an hour for this restaurant very worth it. Prices reasonable for the amount of food you get.
This is the place to be.. Food is always fresh. Service is always great. Price is just right.
Their Asada Tacos are miles better than “Tacos My Friend” and other taco stands..
The worse mexican restaurant ever. I ordered beef taco but I asked the server I don’t like the ground beef I preferred steaks style but she suggested BIRRIA style. So they deliverred the taco birria style which I love to eat beef taco. As soon as they delivered the food they know I don’t like it coz that’s not the one I wanted to eat. Even it takes 25 mins to delivered 5 Birria plus chicken wings… again we wait for another 30 mins for nothing. We thought they make new tacos coz I never touch the food but willing to pay for it. Worst service ever !!! The worst server ever!!! For me tacos in a good truck way better than this. This is not what I ordered steak tacos. Instead correcting their mistakes…. They didn’t do nothing! It’s a waste of time to drove 35 mins
