Definitely could be improved. The skewers were too sweet, I don’t know why they slathered that much sweet sauce onto the raw meat. Noodles were a bit overcooked too.
Came here for dinner when our initial dinner plans fell through. It was a Sunday around 7:30 and it was pretty packed. I believe there's a minimum order of 10 skewers per person. We were trying to understand the menu or have someone explain it to us but they only speak Mandarin so we ended up pointing at things and over ordering. For the skewers we got beef and lamb. They're all seasoned the same with that cumin flavor, so it gets tiring after a while. Some of the pieces were super fatty and I was biting into fat chunks. I did think the skewer rotator was pretty cool. It was fun to cook the skewers. Since we were only eating meat, we decided we needed some veggies so we ordered the stir fried eggplant. We would have been better off without this because it was drenched in oil.
I think I would have had a better experience if everything didn't have the same flavor, and if I understood the menu.
Tip - it's BYOB but only beer and wine (no soju)
Truly amazing lamb skewers and much more. It is BYOB so make sure you bring some Tsingtao to match your delicious skewers.
Delicious skewers that cooks right in front of your eyes! We love this place, and the service is great as well. The servers check on us and help us to grill. The food is not cheap, but the meat is top-notch quality. I wish they do takeout on the skewers, or cook in the back to save time. Follow me for more food adventures on Instagram at @maggielicious.to
Love the idea that you can cook skewers yourself. Each skewer is seasoned to perfection. Try their other dishes too - it's very tasty northern style Chinese food.
Friendly service as well.
Reservation strongly recommended. They can get very crowded on weekends.
You really get what you paid for here. If you are hungry, expect to spend around $40 to $50 per person easy. For the money, the quality of meat is slightly subpar, but delicious nonetheless. It's a BYOB - a big plus.
Fun discovery! We love that the skewers are partially cooked and we finish them ourselves at the table, adding in the seasoning the way we like it. Real charcoal too so the grill taste is amazing ! A bit pricey for a casual place (our bill came to $179 for 3 people) but I think we ordered a lot of meat skewers. We noticed most tables around us ordered main dishes and a few skewers. Overall great experience and we’ll be back! ????
I love this place, good pricing and very delicious. Had party of 4 but 3 other people besides me had stomachache after eating here. I only had the beef skewer but didn't have lamb skewer but others had like 50 lamb skewers to share so that might of been the problem.
Always busy for dinner, would suggest making reservation.
