Best WLM Reviews

I've been to this place a couple times and gotten different things - the "Spicy & Tingly Beef Biang Biang Noodles" and the "Mouth Watering Chicken Noodles". The first time around I also had a side of the Mt. Fuji pork
I generally think the noodles themselves are pretty high-quality. They're hand-pulled, and you can definitely tell the effort that goes into them, these are a lot better than your standard Chinese takeout noodles. Their wide shape and greasy texture allows for a lot of stick-to-tiveness from other parts of the bowl. The beef in my first bowl was also quite nice, as it was soft and flavorful.
Side note: When eating here the first time my teeth started hurting and the pain didn't go away for four days. Not sure if it was because of the specific food or not but I've never had this happen anywhere else
Despite the fact that the noodles themselves were good, both times I've had this I've walked away not feeling great. The main reason for this is the massive amount of oil used in the food. I get that fat is flavor, and oil makes the food taste better, but that's only up to a certain point. When you're halfway through the food and there's more oil than anything else, it's just incredibly unappetizing. It also does not feel good on your stomach, in fact, even just thinking about it now makes my stomach churn. I finished half the second bowl and threw the rest away for this reason
Another disappointment was with the spice level of the food. The first time, I asked for spicy, and the second time, I asked for extra spicy. Both times were the same bland spice level, with the second one having slightly more chili oil on top. There was no spice present whatsoever
The chicken was also really bland in the second bowl
For the price, it's around $18-19, which is on the expensive side but not too bad. It is filling, at the least
Overall, the noodles are good but everything else is unappealing. 6/10
Been to this place a few times over the years. It is nourishing and home made but not zesty. Certainly not zesty to a Xi'an level. The cumin lamb's cumin was almost imperceptible. The "extra spicy" was barely spicy. Overall, fairly bland compared to our expectations. Cucumber salad was diced and not smashed - as a result the cucumber barely grabbed the dressing, which was tasty but also hardly spicy and did not have any perceptible ma la spice.
They did do a beautiful modern fast food renovation though.
Came here for dinner with some friends and it was very easy to find street parking.
You order on tablets and place the receipt on the table you’ve chosen. The few staff in the establishment will bring you waters and your food.
The place is very clean with plenty of seating inside and 3 tables outside in a shaded parking lot patio.
Food was pretty good, but not as spicy as I was expecting it to be even after adding additional chili.
Thick, chewy noodles, just like I remember from many trips to Xi’an. You can choose your own spice level. Overall, excellent food in an efficient, if a bit hands-off service, setting.
My wife is from Xi’an and she said this place is very authentic. We got their pork bun, chicken noodles, cold noodles, dumplings, and skewers. Their pork bun, noodles are standout. Their skewers need higher heat equipment to make meat more moist.
All very clean and not oily. I prefer this over taste of Xian for this reason - it’s healthier and can be had more often. Love it!!!
It was my first time here, and it was recommended by a friend. The food was delicious! We enjoyed the dumplings, spring rolls, and noodle stir fry with tomato and eggs. They have water available and great flavor!!
So good ..I had the spicy lamb noodle bowl and shared the pork dumplings. They were both amazing! It's street parking outside and we lucked out finding parking. The atmosphere was bright and clean inside which was nice compared to the dark winter days. The ordering system was a walk up to a pad where you submit and pay for your order than find a place to sit if dining in. It was easy and efficient.
Definitely looking forward to visiting again and trying different dishes.
I got the lamb sandwich, lamb noodle, and lamb noodle with soup.
The sandwich was great. Good proportions, but the regular spice wasn't quite enough for me.
The lamb noodle without soup was also great. Noodles have a good chew and the regular spice was good. Lamb had great flavor.
Out of everything I wasn't too big of a fan of the soup. Even though all the ingredients were the same other than the soup it didn't match well for me.
The rating is taking out the soup and only judging the other two.
