I love coming here! i normally come for a hair cut or trim, occasional color, and i leave happy every time. Their prices are reasonable and service is great. I live around the corner and they are always willing to take me as a walk in or appointment! I’m so glad to have a good hair salon in the area.
Got a wash, cut, and blow today. The lady who was washing my hair did a great job and didn’t miss a spot. The head massage was
great.
The guy who did my hair (forgot to get his name) did a great job with trimming and relaying my hair. It looks beautiful and healthy! I was in a rush otherwise I would have stayed to get it curled but next time!
The price was perfect. I got the wash, cut and blow dry for $45.

**Extreme Curly Hair Beware**
Trying to save any curly-haired girlie from this place.
Came in for a pink, the color was turning out purple, so I told them. They put in a darker color after showing them what I wanted. Color came out red.
Told there was damage. Forecefully got a Keratin. Keratin was placed, then washed out in 15 minutes. Practically had no choice because I was scared to death.
Overall: Traumatized. Hair damaged, color retoned back to original balyage color. Keratin didn't work, still curly and damaged. I paid $580. Please avoid this place if you do not have straight hair.

called asked for a last min appoint and they penciled me in. good head wash, good stylist. paid 45 for wash cut and blow (Note: not including the tip to the stylist or hair washer)

I showed up to my appointment on-time today and was told by my stylish, Leo, to wait 15 mins. After 20 mins, he told me to wait another 10 mins, in which I told him that it wasn't okay for him to be 30 mins late to our appointment, especially when he was 30 minutes late last time and promised that he wouldn't make me wait. Instead of apologizing and taking accountability, he made an excuse saying that he has to finish his current client that came in earlier. I refuted that he should've scheduled her appointment with enough time to ensure that I don't have to wait 30 mins. I understand that sometimes jobs could take longer, but the stylist should schedule appointments with ample time for the longest potential average time it takes to cut a client's hair. They should also apologize if they can't follow through with their promise.
Terrible customer service. Avoid at all costs, especially a stylist named, "Leo."

I’m really not sure why the reviews are so mixed here. I had an amazing experience all 3 times I’ve gone here. Jojo washed my hair for a good 5-10 minutes, it’s like getting a relaxing massage. Jimmy is an amazing artists, I love my new cut and I will most definitely be back! . I highly recommend to give them a try.
i have been to Xcellent a year ago and loved my hair. My only problem was that it was far away and a little pricy. I found a salon near my house that obliterated my hair on a Wednesday. My hair was yellow with patches of green, harsh lines, botched job, and everything was a complete disaster. (before and after photos are posted) The only thing on my mind was, "i should've never cheated on Kevin!"
I was able to get an appointment on Friday (I had work on Thursday). I walked in and when Kevin sat me down his eyes wide opened because of how shocked he was at what he was looking at. My hair was a hot mess. Kevin consulted with me about the work that needed to get done. I completely understand his reasoning behind all the work that was required. I needed to bleach my entire head in order to get it to one color, then he'll be able to get it to the color I desired.
The stylist I had kept checking in with me to make sure I was doing alright. I was just disgusted by what the previous salon did to me lol. I appreciated his concern!
When all the work was done and Kevin revealed the final look to me, it took everything in me not to tear up. I am so thankful. He's truly a The Hair Doctor. I am never cheating on him ever again.

I contemplated writing this review but honestly, this will have been the third time I’d needed to return for corrections to be made on my hair, due to the carelessness of the colorists. I showed my inspo pic vs what I got and every person confirmed it looked nothing of what I asked for. The original pic had lowlights and dimension and was honey blonde.I just left with bleached hair toned WAY too ashy. I hate it. It looks like I have a wig on. Colorist should know off the bat what to do and how best to achieve as close as possible to your ask. Why am I, the customer having to guide a professional? I should’ve known that after 3 people came in back to back,displeased with their hair that day, that that was a clear indicator of what’s to
come. These services are expensive especially with the rising costs, not to mention hours spent there. Its a shame. Will not be returning. Other salons care about the integrity of your hair and value your time. Don’t come here unless you plan on taking another day off just to fix their mistakes.
