This is probably the hotspot in the town! The food is delicious and our server at the bar check on us often. We ordered buffalo burger and fish & chips. Our sides of salad and gumbo came out later when we’re almost done with entree. Highly recommend the green tomato appetizer. Definitely come in during non rush hours or make reservations before hand as the place gets really busy.
They took great care of me passing through, even though I came in right in at closing time. Decided to go against my norm and get boneless wings to save the mess, for sake of time, and they were the best boneless wings I've ever had. Definitely not over breaded crap you can pull out of your own freezer from Walmart. Highly recommend this place! Got the ribs, fish and chips, gumbo, garlic mushrooms, chicken strips, fillets, and a few other things. This is Denny’s with another name. They microwave the good when you order, it is not good. The mushrooms were boiled and tasteless, it was all terrible, except the fillets, how do you screw those up? But the price tag for the meal is on the high side, or more. There are other places in town that are less expensive and offer better food and atmosphere. We took it to go and they forgot one of the meals so we had to trek back for it. The temps were not good when we got to our destination,5 minutes from the restaurant.

My visit to Wyoming’s Rib & Chop House in Sheridan was a culinary delight. As a steakhouse, they truly excelled in delivering a top-notch experience. I opted for the surf and turf, where the traditional lobster was substituted with Jamaican sugar salmon. The salmon was flaky, perfectly cooked, and had a subtle sweetness that was quite enjoyable.
However, the real star of the meal was the steak. It was cooked to absolute perfection—tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor. Paired with the sautéed mushrooms and onions, along with a rich, creamy horseradish, the steak was truly epic. The stuffed crab mushrooms added an extra layer of indulgence, making each bite a harmonious blend of textures and tastes.
I chose to sit at the bar, where the atmosphere was warm and inviting. Engaging conversations with fellow patrons made the experience even more enjoyable. I accompanied my meal with a couple of 22-ounce bombs, which were just the right touch to round out the evening. Discussions ranged from ending slavery in America to freeing ourselves from income taxes and federal control—topics as rich and engaging as the food itself.
Overall, my experience at Wyoming’s Rib & Chop House was exceptional. While the Jamaican sugar salmon was a pleasant surprise, it was the steak, paired with those perfectly sautéed mushrooms and onions, that truly stood out. Been here a few times over the years. Tonight, the service was lacking a bit. The food and drinks were great! We were served our waters without straws and lemon, but everyone around us had straws and lemon. The place was busy, so I understand not everyone can be pleased, but everyone should get the same standard of complimentary water. Bartender who served us did great with the old fashioned!
I know this is a small north midwestern chain restaurant, but it's great! Interior is old classic America, simple...ate here 3 times during my week in Sheridan. The bar is nice enough. Service was friendly from the wonderful bartender and waitress. Bonus points that this restaurant stays open until 9 or 10pm! It's hard to find good food in Sheridan after 8pm!
$20 Steak Special, 11a-2pm: 7oz Sirloin Steak, Side of your choice, and a salad...amazing! And Delicious! The house salad is pleasant enough, and I ordered the steak medium, and it came with a nice pink center while remaining juicy and tender, with a nice warm melted herb butter. The baked potato was huge and creamy, with sour cream, butter, bacon bits, and chives, yum! Great deal!!!
$18 Cobb Salad...humongous salad with hard-boiled egg, diced tomatoes, grilled chicken, avocado, bacon, blue cheese crumbles, romaine lettuce and red onions. Delicious!
$34 10oz Sirloin Steak...ordered Medium, and again it was perfect with a pink center, juicy, tender, and nice warm herb butter. The wedge salad was classic and fresh, and lots of blue cheese dressing. The potatoes au gratin were nice, but wasn't sliced and a rather small portion I thought.
I’ve been to all the Rib & Chop locations in Wyoming, the food is always great as is the ambiance. The Sheridan location is no exception. The baseball cut top sirloin is exceptional. I did run into some lousy service from the bar tender, but that’s unusual.
We had a rough morning and decided we needed to treat ourselves. I'm very happy we chose the Chop House. Tyra our waitress was a sweetheart and took great care of us. Wife and I both had the Executive Lunch! Perfect steaks - tender, juicy and full of flavor. Changed our outlook on the day! So glad we got to enjoy this!
