Best WLM Reviews
After reading the horrific reviews, I decided to stay here, out of season, for one night! My bathroom was fairly clean, and I didn’t see the roaches everyone was complaining about, however, I believe my room had bedbugs!! I got in late at night, so I went straight to bed and I saw bugs crawling on me!! yikes! as a clean freak, that made me extremely uncomfortable. Nonetheless, I switched to the other bed and when I woke up, there were blood spots everywhere. Growing up, my family had bedbugs from a trip we took to Mexico that took MONTHS to deal with, so I know when I see them! The ocean view is really nice! I love the North End, but I have to say, this hotel is quite outdated and you hear everyone in the hallway. I try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt, but next time, I’m going back to the Cavalier, where it’s extremely clean, quiet, and staff are incredible. The guy at the front desk, I forget his name, but he was fairly kind as well! I’m giving you a generous two stars for the parking and ocean view.
Johnathan at the front desk was the best part of our stay. We had checked in late at night only to be "welcomed" by a rude and non welcoming front desk clerk. I decided not to engage in his crappy demeanor, so I waited to get our room corrected the next day and was greeted by the lovely, Johnathan. Johnathan was welcoming, helpful and compassionate and got us in a room that was great. That is the best part of the hotel. The cleaning staff also went above and beyond to help us. With that being said, the rooms are no frills, pet friendly and ok. You have no perks at this hotel. If you want coffee (other than the coffee maker in your room) you have to go the "lobby" you have to go to the restaurant and pay $8.00 for a cup. You are far away from the actual down town Virginia Beach area, so you have to drive to get there. It an okay place to stay. We smelled marijuana around one room in particular, but it was evident guests did not adhere to the no smoking policy of the hotel. The pool area was dingy and dirty with debris floating in the pool. Towels were hard to come by in the pool/hot tub area. I feel as thought the $153.00 a night was way overpriced for what we got.
Check in was amazing and so was everything else. I couldn't be more happy. ||Staff was great, everything was clean, and well taken care of.||Pool area was clean water was clear and warm. Hot tub was amazing too.||Parking was easy I felt safe at all times also.
The hotel was pretty far away from stores and restaurants.the room had a nice ocean view . It had a hot tub and pool but we didn’t have time to try them out . No free breakfast . There was a restaurant and bar in hotel but didn’t try it . The room had tv, coffee maker but needed more coffee and sugar and cream , no trash bags in cans . It was quiet .
The suite was very spacious- what we were looking for but a few things we did not like. We were on a non-smoking floor but it immediately smelled like cigs as soon as we stepped off the elevator. The room looked clean but we noticed some plastic trash left around the tv/dresser area. There were marks in the bathtub and inside the toilet as well. The balcony sliding doors had locks but they did not work- a bit of a safety issue. The view of the beach was very nice. They have an indoor pool but the water was very cold.
Can't beat the view from the oceanfront rooms. Events and catering staff were always helpful. Room prices were very affordable for our conference and the food was better than most conferences I have attended. It's a beach hotel, so it takes a beating from the elements and vacationers, but the conference rooms are all in good shape and the guest rooms are very nice.
The Wyndham Virginia Beach Oceanfront is an okay option if you’re looking for something budget-friendly. The rooms are clean, but the hotel itself is quite dated and could use some upgrades. Water was running down the windows from outside, which added to the worn-out feel, and the patio, while usable, was dirty. The biggest plus was the pet-friendly policy and the incredibly friendly staff, who made the stay more pleasant. However, there was a noticeable smoke smell in my non-smoking room. Overall, it’s not the best, but for the price, it’s acceptable.
I was there along with 276 other people for an event at the hotel. The staff was very courteous, food and drinks were great. The hotel room was very clean as was the rest of the building and the grounds. Overall, it was a wonderful experience. This was our second year having this event at this hotel, and we will back again next year.
