Best WLM Reviews

The check in process was streamlined, and the location of the hotel was ideal for sightseeing as it was within 5-6 block of all major sightseeing venues such as the museum, the capitol, governors mansion etc. The down side was the hotel was very old and run down…not anything up to par as it should have been. The price of the room was too much for what we received. (They did let us change rooms because the suite we asked for was o my one room instead of the two that was posted online) You had to unload things at the front and then park in. The parking garage around the corner and the luggage carts were not as accesible as they should have been. The rooms were decently clean but there was a pair of dirty socks in the closet from a previous guest. The air conditioner worked well, but it was hard to control because one of them had to be manually turned off and the other one was in a weird position and if you were in the bed, either it was too cold or too hot. The black out curtains really did work well. Many of the elevators were not working properly. The pool was clean, but the water was rather cold. They did not offer breakfast because of a low number of guests. Even if they would have offered it, the price was expensive. All in all, I would NOT stay in this hotel again….it was definitely past its prime, they need to update it to bring it back to being a 3.5 star hotel.
We were immediately impressed when we walked into the lobby. Was a very pretty and very clean. Check-in was easy and the gentleman checking us in couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly. It did cost $10 to park for our stay. There is a parking garage hooked onto the hotel. Our room was very nice with a mini fridge microwave and a coffee pot. The beds were very comfortable. The room was a bit dated, but it was clean and nice. There is a fantastic bar hooked onto the hotel that serves great food. There is a breakfast buffet for $15 which was so nice. The tables had linen napkins and real silverware, not the plastic stuff. The food on the buffet was very hot and plenty of choices, including scrambled eggs, gravy, and biscuits, potatoes, sausage, bacon, fresh fruit, and so much more’On the other side of the hotel there is a Starbucks. The pool was very clean and looked inviting, and the workout area served its purpose but probably could use an update. ||I don’t understand the poor reviews!. Every single staff member we encountered could not have been nicer or more helpful. Overall, I thought the hotel seemed very clean, despite some reviews stating otherwise. I would stay here again without any issues.. Reviewers complained the elevator were slow, but we did not encounter that at all.
The fact that Wyndham and the town of Springfield allow this hotel to remain open is mind blowing. I stayed here during a conference I was attending. My room was on floor 3, it had red carpet that looked like it was from the 80s and it was frayed everywhere. The TVs and Internet would cut out constantly. The shower only had a shower wand but there was no bracket to hold it on the wall so you had to stand in the shower and hold the wand the entire time. The towels all had lipstick stains on them. I booked two other co-workers staying here as well. Both had dirty towels and similar issues. I will never make this mistake again and hope this thing gets torn down. The twins from the shining wouldnt even stay here.
Rooms good, clean good mattress. Poor hot water in shower. I don't think I would stay here again, 2 or three elevators out of operation. Seems bit run down first impression. I was disappointed, expected a 5 star hotel being Downtown Springfield,
Definitely a hotel that could use some updating, definitely wasn’t aware of the hotel’s financial situation at time of stay. Elevators were working, there was a convention going on at the time of our stay. It was a bit noisy of a building, very creaky! Beds were fine, everything was clean. The bathroom needed some work, the toilet was broken when we attempted to flush it. Employees were welcoming and friendly. If this hotel stays open, I hope it’s revamped a bit more for current guests. But for a one-night out-of-town emergency stay, it covered the basics. Did not try the restaurant, but Starbucks right there is a plus.
The halls and elevators are quite warm. The hotel is huge. Rooms were clean and comfortable but do not provide a fridge nor microwave. Pool was closed like most things in this hotel. Why advertise The Grille restaurant if it's rarely open?Front desk and shuttle drivers are helpful. Probably the best thing going for this hotel.
We booked this hotel based on its location and advertised amenities. The location is perfect, but some advertised amenities were unavailable. The advertised pool is closed. The advertised cafe and bar is closed. The advertised hot breakfast buffet is closed. We should have known when we got to the front door and the revolving door was broken that the hotel wasn't quite up to snuff. The ice machine on our floor was unplugged, which wasn't the big deal, but it was another indicator. The final irritation occurred when we returned from a local restaurant (because as mentioned above the hotel cafe was closed) and found that the room didn't even have a microwave to warm leftovers with - so in the garbage they went. For Pete's sake, even the cheapest hotels we've stayed at over the last couple weeks have had in room microwaves. All that said, the person at the reception desk was very polite when she explained that when hotel occupancy is low, amenities are reduced... which ironically will only ensure that occupancy remains low.
Just went to DSI banquet at the Wyndham. What an amazing time. The food was excellent. The staff was very professional and courteous to everyone. The Wyndham should be your host destination for all of your events. Also, a dear friend held a celebration of life here and had the same experience. Great experience! !
