Best WLM Reviews

We have stayed here several times but this was the first since the recent remodel. The rooms are comfortable and roomy with a sleek, modern decor. The gentleman working at the front desk, Terrance was welcoming and professional and treated us with courtesy and respect. The location of this hotel is ideal for our needs and I would recommend it to family and friends.
Exceptional Staff and Comfort During a Difficult Time
Our recent long-term stay at the Courtyard by Marriott Pittsburgh University Center was truly a blessing during a challenging time as my father was hospitalized nearby. The staff here went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, comfortable, and supported throughout our stay. From the warm smiles and empathy at the front desk to the thoughtful care from housekeeping, everyone helped us feel at home when we needed it most.
The room was clean, quiet, and perfectly suited for long-term stays, providing us with a peaceful retreat at the end of each day. The convenience of the hotel’s amenities and the close proximity to the hospital were incredibly helpful, allowing us to focus on my father’s care without added stress.
The genuine kindness and dedication of the staff made such a difference. We are so grateful to the Courtyard team for their compassion and professionalism—it was truly a “home away from home.” Highly recommend for anyone needing a reliable, caring place to stay in Pittsburgh!
This was a great hotel, newly renovated, great location for a weekend getaway.
I would like to say a special thank you to Terrence at the front desk who provided me with excellent service. We had a terrible nights sleep due to noisy neighbours, and Terrence helped troubleshooting and problem solve with us.
Many thanks! Will be back????
Wish I had read the reviews first as I experienced pretty much everything everyone else has cited as issues.
This place may look nice from the outside, but it’s a cheap renovation on an old hotel. If slamming doors and the sound of flushing toilets doesn’t keep you away, the problems with elevators and the $40/night parking will. Yes, $40. No breakfast nor coffee. The front desk is also understaffed. Rates were over $300/night when I stayed. Not recommended.
So, we will start at check in, I reserved a room on the website that was two queens and a pull-out couch. After driving 10 hours to get there for college weekend drop off, we find out they don't actually have that room available, and the employee was less than helpful fixing the situation. So had to rent an entire second room because they didn't have what they advertised. ||||Then we will discuss parking, they have an oversized vehicle lot on the side and a garage for smaller vehicles on the property. But they let the smaller sized vehicles park in the oversized lot forcing trucks and bigger SUV to park on the street. ||||I am disabled too; I noticed a vehicle parked in the handicapped spot for 2 days with no placard or plate indicating they are handicap. So, I inquired about which police agency I would notify to have them check on the situation. As I finally found a in a less an ideal location. I observe an employee come out and move the vehicle that has been parked for 2 days. He saw me and I saw him, but it gets better the next morning, I come out to a razor blade stuck in my tire and it slashed. Spoke with 2 police officers who stated it was a very clean cut and looked intentional. Also, when I went to get the tire replaced, the tire manager agreed it had been slashed intentionally, ||||I would select a different place; location was great but everything else was not worth it.
Room was smallish for a double Queen. Mattress wasn’t great, but pillows were awesome. No room service, so everyone fends for themselves for food. Limited menu, we mostly had food delivered. Front desk and housekeeping were awesome. Parking not friendly for SUV’s. Very tight. Location was perfect for moving my child into their Pitt dorm and participating in University activities.
The Wyndham became a MARRIOTT COURTYARD on June 25, 2024. This entire hotel has been BEAUTIFULLY RENOVATED, and all smells brand new! A standard, modern corporate hotel. All the mattresses, linens, furniture, fixtures and carpeting are brand new! Mattress very comfortable, and fluffy pillows. The gym has new high-quality treadmills, ellipticals, medicine balls, weights etc. The air conditioner gave a steady comfortable, clean flow of air. This is a 5-Star property located near U of Pittsburgh. The 28X Airport Flyer bus stop is one block away. I had a King Deluxe room on the 6th floor with mini-refrigerator and sleep sofa. Coffee maker with decaf/regular coffee. Large bathroom with hairdryer. Plenty of wall outlets to charge electronics. Big screen TV. Black out curtains. AAA Discount. Parking is about $40, there is street parking.||Kudos to the staff, especially Tanisha at the front desk, housekeeper Tekbir and Rod in maintenance. All very friendly. The front desk was attentive when I called to complain about a family down the hall that kept making noise going in and out of their rooms, kids running in the hall around midnight. A hotel employee came up and talked to the family, and again when they continued to make noise. ||The Cons - The new heavy room doors slam, and we could hear other guests’ room doors slamming. We could hear the supersonic sounding toilets flush in the rooms above, and other plumbing noises. This started at about 5:30 am when guests were getting up. The built-in shower toiletry bottles (shampoo, soap, conditioner) very hard to distinguish because the labels were so tiny and impossible to read (poor bottle design). I found the bathroom lighting too bright , at least it was bright. The table lamps with LED lights were harsh, not great light. The floor lamp gave a nice, soft light.
Great hotel for a short stay in the city! Conveniently located, newly renovated, great amenities and with friendly stuff! Special shout out to Terrance for being a great sport! Recommend staying here.
