Obviously working on this property. Lobby very nice, and front doors and outside courtyard show it must have been really nice at some point. The cattlemen’s grill was the only restaurant. Staff was really nice there. Bar food delicious and fast. Limited choice on wines but that happens. Room was clean and obviously some new carpet/bedding. Hallways nice. Furniture needs replacement with chipping. Bathroom was our issue. Old ceiling tiles that didn’t fit well, held dirt in places, and a child height toilet. Water in shower never really got hot. A work in progress.
Staff is excellent friendly and easy to work with. Facility is nice but needs a little care and updating. Food catered to the classes was applewood bacon was excellent Bar staff at the Cattleman were friendly and good to get you what you needed. Food was good there too. Breakfast was not provided and not many options close by to walk to.
This place is a dump. As soon as you enter, you smell the carpet that hasn't been cleaned in years. The chairs in the lobby reeked of cigarette smoke that permeates your clothes and you carry it with you. Exhausted after a full day of travel, upon entering the room, it felt like a swamp, wet, damp and dank. Turning on the air conditioner, mold plumes were so thick that we immediately started sneezing. The second room, next door, the air conditioner wasn't working at all. After I begged front desk, we were given an upgrade. I cannot understand why or how they are in such a central location and will not do any renovations, upgrades, or basic upkeep of the property, especially given the cost. I thought given the Wyndham name and reputation that it would be better, but alas, it was the worst hotel for the most money I've every had the displeasure of spending
Absolutely disgusting hotel! Worst I've ever been to my entire life. Picture bedbug motel in the middle of nowhere and the smell and the lack of quality that you would find and that would explain this hotel. It really needs to be completely torn down and redone. It wreaks of mold everywhere, AC doesn't work well, rooms are extremely outdated and gross with spots of mold and decay on walls and doors. Bathroom is also tiny and very outdated. Caulking is missing near the tub and black mold throughout. Only saving grace is it's the best location for NRG stadium. Honestly, even with the perfect location I'd STILL never stay here again.
I have been coming to this location for years for this conference. The facilities could use a good update but the staff is top notch and works hard to make our stay the best. Need to make sure they are paid a good wage to keep them. Hard to find workers this dedicated.
Rooms were not very clean. Found a cockroach in the hallway and bugs in rooms of people I spoke to. Also had a piece of plastic in my food when I ate the restaurant food.
Location is also inconvenient if you do not have a car as there is no food within (reasonable) walking distance. Overall do not recommend staying here.
Hotel smells so moldy. Pictures are very deceiving. We booked through travel uro and reviews were not terrible. We paid 200$ for room. It smelled terrible. It was like a Motel 6. Well actually a motel 6 is nicer. Lobby is very nice so it’s very deceiving. AC barely worked. Beds didn’t feel clean bc of the condition of hotel in general. We stayed in building 4. We had 3 rooms and all were same condition. Rooms 4103,4113 and 4210. Needless to say we couldn’t wait to get home. Never ever ever ever will stay here no matter how wonderful location is.
Here for medical treatment at MD Anderson. Do not recommend. Due to cancer we are already on tight income and they double charged room. 1st day were told someone will call..no call.. 2nd day same girl called accounting department and had the nerve to say they need help understanding their bill. No . We were charged $580 for 2 nights at this DUMP. ( We prepaid online then they charged us again) Account guy came down and took our email and said he would handle it soon. He even said if we can prove you prepaid but refused to look at our receipts. Been over 2 hours and have heard nothing. ( Should have been handled yesterday). Rooms are outdated . TVs outdated. Bathroom awful. $15 high breakfast charge for a limited buffet ( same as free one as most places) not
worth $60 a night much less what we paid. Worse hotel experience ever and we travel a lot. Also everyone complaining cars got broke into. Luckily ours did not. Also shampoo in the room would not come out of bottles. Expired in 2022 . Update ...day later. Guy never emailed or called. No refund. Sent all receipts and payment details to corporate office and online booking site. Double charged cleared account. Never fixed. Don't expect help from anyone working locally.
