Best WLM Reviews

The location is most important. This hotel is basically ideal for enjoying the best of downtown Pittsburgh and the transit system. The hotel is a “bit tired” in the rooms and hotel room hallways but, like a beautiful woman that has become aged, you can still see the beauty and can understand the aging. Does that make sense? I read about 40 reviews both positive and negative and now that we’ve been here, they are all pretty accurate. I guess it all depends on your perspective. I see the good and appreciate the location. The staff all appeared to have “positive vibes” which reflects on the hard work of the management. ||I own a small, commercial renovation company and have worked on hotels like this and with staff and management many times. I know this business fairly well. I’d recommend staying here. The pool is just as nice as the pictures. lol…. ||I’m sure it can get hectic here when occupancy approaches 100% but, that’s life sometimes!
We were here for a dance convention, and normally those can be extremely hectic chaotic and very frustrating. This hotel provided such great amenities and had a wonderful staff. It made our stay here very comfortable and enjoyable. Our room was comfortable and even though we didn’t ask for maids service, it was straightened up and tidied up for us Which was a great surprise. The hotel is laid out in such a way that we didn’t feel the chaos as much. The restaurant is delicious and the servers very attentive, even though there were only one or two servers with an incredibly large amount of people that wanted food.! ||The Crown jewel of this hotel, even though it may seem strange, is the valet service. When we checked in, it was super easy and even though there was one bellman for 700 rooms, he got our stuff upstairs quickly. Michael and his team do an incredible job of moving cars in and out very quickly with a smile on their face, and all of the guys were so incredibly respectful. It may not seem like a big deal, but it totally took one of the most stressful parts of checking in and out of a hotel out of the equation. Make sure you tip them they are working so hard! ||Great stay can’t wait to come back!
I stayed at the Wyndham Grand on July 3rd, 2024 to July 7th, 2024 and it wasn't the best stay in the world. The front desk team, as in the team checking people in, were all very nice and accommodating. any time i had to call them to make a request or message them about any problems I had they were very receptive and quick with responses. The valet people were also very nice as they let us unpack our things before finding a place for us to park. The room itself though had smelled kinda musty despite is having arrived about an hour earlier. It wasn't a huge deal for me, as we requested for a fan to be brought up to the room and was immediately given one, but the biggest issue I had was with the Bellman at the front desk.
Off the bat he was very rude and had a noticeable attitude towards me after I had asked for a luggage cart to bring my luggage up. He spoke quietly while wearing a mask and got irritated when I said I couldn't hear him. I understand having a rough day, especially on a busy day as it was the day before a large convention being hosted in the area, but come on.
Other than those issues the location was great. We managed to watch the fireworks from our hotel room on the 4th and the convention center was a small walk away. Id have a much more positive memory of my stay if it wasn't for the bellman being so incredibly rude for simply being asked where you could get a luggage cart from.
The room was average but clean. Fitness room was very nice and clean. Whatever scent they put by the elevators and in the lobby was too much. The smell gave me an instant headache. The Starbucks in the lobby was awful (behaved - angry and annoyed). The restaurant and bar had friendly service and yummy perogies. The valet guys were absolutely wonderful! Friendly even though they were super busy!
Great hotel experience! I read about 50 reviews and they are all fair, both positive and negative. We appreciate the location and enjoyed our stay very much. The staff and management have the right attitude for hospitality.
The Wyndham Grand is in an excellent location to walk to the stadiums and the Point, as well as downtown, although not walkable to the Strip--but a $10-15 Uber. Rooms are relatively small and walls are way too thin lol but they are clean and comfortable. Had a great view of the river. The restaurant is ok--for breakfast, a $19 buffet is probably your best bet--and the bar, not bad. Staff , however, were great. The valet parking is fairly expensive, and the closest garage on Stanwick will probably not fit a truck--so park in the outdoor lot a block from the hotel. Would definitely stay here again for a game.
We stayed for a football game. Location is fantastic and just a short walk to the stadium and bars. Also a very short walk to Market Square which we go to each time we visit Pittsburgh. Beds were comfortable and room was cozy and clean. Rooms are small, but we were only there to sleep, so perfect for what we needed. The only negative comment I have is that we arrived early and did not want to pay the extra $50 for early check in. Went to use the lobby bathroom before heading to the game and a room key was required to get into the bathroom, which we didn’t have yet. Thankfully there was someone coming out and let us in.
We had a great experience this weekend. Stayed two nights with an amazing view of the river. Room wasn’t huge, but very nice with a big and comfortable bed. We were very happy with it.
Valet with in and out privileges was $43/ night which was worth it for us as we were in and out all weekend.
Front desk were very friendly and welcoming.
We would absolutely stay again and hope we got the same view. : )
