This hotel was fine. It was clean and in a great location for exploring San Diego. It had a bit of a musty smell, I'm not sure from what because there were no carpets or curtains. $20/day to park is crazy in my opinion, but apparently that's common in SD. They decided to change the water heaters and not tell anyone so I had to wait a while to shower, but it eventually came back on (it took a few hours). Staff was friendly and helpful.
This hotel was nice but overall not any nicer than a Holiday Inn/La Quinta/Comfort Inn, etc. Ive stayed at plenty of hotels across the country and while this was clean and in a good location, it's not quite worth the price. I was expecting more from a Wyndham.
Good But Could Be Better.
Great Location For Visiting Sea World.Plenty Of Food Places Near The Property.Friendly Helpful Staff At Check In/Out.
Bathroom Was Super Small. They Charge For Parking Daily Which Should Be Included With Your Stay. Water In The Shower Completely Cuts Off After 10 Minutes So You Better Shower Quick. AC Unit Blows Vinegar Smelling Air.
I Give It A 3 Out Of 5 Hotel Can Do So Much Better They Have Room For Improvement.
Hotel is close to the airport. It is very difficult to find the lobby. The hotel is not in the best part of town. It is close to the airport. It was easy to call an uber/lyft. The rooms were clean. The shower head was installed really low and the water pressure wasn’t great. Where my room was you could hear the road. The walls are super thin. There was screaming in the hotel parking lot around 3am so that was unpleasant. The elevators are really old so they are scary to ride.
My recent experience with the Wyndham Garden in San Diego was frustrating, and I ended up canceling and staying elsewhere. When we reserved a room for 10 days, there was no mention of a $20 daily parking fee, which we only found out upon arrival. The hotel itself looked run down and not at all like the photos online, with the pool completely out of service.
What made matters worse was the unprofessional behavior of the staff. A young man and an older lady were both rude and smug when we brought up our concerns and inquired about a refund. Instead of offering any assistance, they flatly refused to help and showed no interest in addressing our issues. Their dismissive attitude was enough for us to leave and find a better hotel for our stay.
Overall, I would never recommend this place. Between the hidden fees, poor facilities, and terrible customer service, it’s not worth the hassle. We were glad we found a better option elsewhere.
Peaceful resting building C. Our room was very clean/sanitized. Housekeeping did a wonderful job each day we needed clean towels & coffee. Front desk was very kind & helpful. Will stay again. ????????
Please note no breakfast at this time, but Panera right there in center of hotel buildings & surrounding area literally walking distance - McD's, Arby's, Chick-fil-A, Phil's BBQ ????, Filibertos, Denny's, Vons, Target, to name a few ????????
We stayed when we were in town for my son's boot camp graduation in early November. I loved the location because it was about 7 minutes from the airport and 5 minutes from MCRD. There were tons of restaurants nearby within walking distance and grocery stores if we needed anything. The beds were super comfortable too!
OK hotel overall Be aware there is a 20.00 dollar parking fee per night here. Clean rooms. TV seems to get DirectTV channels. Property surrounds a Panera Bread restaurant. Our 2nd floor elevator was out of order the day we left. Should have more "EXIT" signs pointing to the stairwell incase the elevators are out of order. Lots of stuff to see and do very close to the hotel.
Although they were not able to honour the early check-in request, the staff were friendly and allowed us to store our luggage until our room was ready. Very clean and spacious rooms, comfortable beds, fairly close to attractions, food and local shopping. Will stay here again.
