If I could give zero stars, I would. My stay at Wyndham Miami was one of the most stressful, infuriating, and unprofessional hotel experiences I’ve ever had. ||I made my reservation on November 8th, 2024, expecting a smooth check-in when I arrived on December 6th at 10 PM after a long, exhausting day of travel. Instead, I was blindsided when I was told my payment method was not accepted. **The staff knew this in advance and chose not to notify me.** I provided my email when I booked, and I even called the front desk on December 5th to ask a question, giving them my name and reservation details. Not once was I told there would be an issue with my payment method. Instead, I was left stranded late at night, alone in an unfamiliar city, tired, unwell, and unprepared to deal with this mess. ||To make matters worse, I emailed hotel management after this incident, and guess what? No one even bothered to respond. I waited for a reply that never came. This hotel clearly doesn't care about its guests once they've taken your money. ||But it gets worse. When I reported that my room smelled like weed, the front desk staff had the nerve to look annoyed, like I was inconveniencing them by bringing it up. The lack of professionalism was appalling. ||The next day, when my friend and I were communicating with the front desk, one of the employees rolled her eyes at us after she made a mistake. Yes, she made the mistake, but somehow, we were the ones being treated like a problem. ||Let’s not forget the room I reserved. I booked a king bed, but when I arrived, I was given a room with two queen beds instead. No explanation. No apology. Just another example of their lack of care and total disregard for guests' expectations. ||This experience was a nightmare. Poor communication, rude and dismissive staff, no accountability, and a total disregard for guest comfort or respect. Do yourself a favor and stay anywhere else. I’ve stayed at budget hotels with better service than this. Wyndham Miami should be ashamed of itself. I will be escalating this complaint to corporate, review sites, and the Better Business Bureau. ||Avoid this hotel at all costs. It’s not worth the stress, disrespect, and frustration.
I stayed at Wyndham Garden Miami for one night before my flight back to Spain. The service was totally out of the ordinary, especially Alia, a wonderful woman who works at the counter; she made everything easy. They helped me with early check-in and late check-out and provided me with a quiet space for working while I was in the hotel. The shuttle was included in the price, the gym facilities were great, the pool was very sunny, and the rooms were comfortable. It was an amazing stay.
Our room did not have hot water in the evening. I contacted the front desk and they gave the usual "let it run for a longer time" excuse but after insisting sent a technician to the room. He spent 10 minutes in there and was puzzled why the hot water is not running, and went to the boiler room to check something. After that the hot water started to run. ||||The next morning, however, the hot water was not running again. It was early and we needed to rush to the airport, so we called imideatly to the front desk, who seemed not to be at all aware that we had had the same problem last night, because they again said that we should "let the water run longer". When we insisted that this is the same problem as the previous night, and asked a technician to check it, they informed that there are nobody working at this hour. ||||When we asked if there is another room where we could shower, they said "hotel is fully boooked" and could not offer any solution. So we needed to take a cold shower. I demanded a price reduction. Front office promised to contact the manager "when he comes to work". ||||Half an hour later when we were already leaving the hotel, a person who introduced himself as a Controller of the hotel, approached me and listened to my concern and promised to process the price reduction. However, it is now way more than 48 hours and I have not heard anything from the hotel and I can see that my credit card is fully charged. What a bunch of crooks.
I stayed in Miami the night before my cruise & I don't think I could have picked a better hotel! After a LONG day of traveling, the staff was a breath of fresh air as they were so friendly upon arrival, and the ambiance and cleanliness of the lobby was impeccable. My room was nothing short of amazing- I love the bathroom setup and how the toilet was behind a frosted glass door of its own just like the shower. There's added security as you have to scan your key card in the elevator to get to your room. There's also a shuttle service offered to the Port of Miami with competitive pricing when comparing ride share apps. I also ate at the Pilot House and had a great experience. I now know which hotel I’ll always stay at when visiting Miami!
Wyndham Garden Miami has the potential to be a very nice property, yet feel the employees lack of "interest/work ethics" is its downfall. Not to say we had a horrible stay but cleanliness and customer service here are lacking.
Room: Upon check in, had an issue with hair in bed when pulled sheets back. Reached out to front desk. Issue was never addressed until WE confronted housekeeping ourselves. When asked to change out bedding, houskeeping seemed to take offense that we even made such a request and were very snarky in asking us to "check it now" to ensure it was satisfactory. Double queen room was spacious and well designed.
Dinning: Food was good (dinner). Pricey for what you get but quality was good. Staff was not very enthused beyond taking initial order. Perhaps this is due to the "Miami standard" 18% already buried into check. Only speculating...
Location: It's OK. Not much in walking distance. Starbucks about 1 mile, great little sports bar about half block away but not too much beyond that. Everything else must drive to.
Again, property has great potential and had a decent stay beyond the few annoyances. I'd say a 3.5-3.8 rating is warranted.
Very clean hotel and close to the airport. They do offer airport shuttle service runs on the hour through 6am to 10pm. Our room had two AC units, and one did not work well. The beds are comfortable, and rooms are updated. The downstairs has a bar and small store. Upstairs is a nice restaurant and bar.
The pool is much smaller than the picture show on the website. The hotel is very expensive. The continental breakfast is insanely expensive very clean nice hotel. The bartenders at the pilot lounge are awesome. Had a great time up there.
Staying at the Wyndham Miami was an absolute NIGHTMARE. From the moment I arrived, it was clear that professionalism and customer service do not exist here.
I made my reservation on November 8, 2024, and arrived on December 6, 2024, at 10 PM. After a long day of travel, tired, unwell, and alone as a single woman in a new city, I was blindsided at check-in when they told me my payment method would not be accepted. Here’s the kicker — they knew this in advance and never told me. I provided my email when I booked, and I even called the front desk on December 5th to ask a question, giving them my name and reservation details. Not once was I told there would be an issue with my card. Instead, they let me travel all the way there, only to tell me at 10 PM that I couldn’t check in unless I had another form of payment.
To make it worse, I emailed the hotel to follow up on these issues, and they ignored me completely. No response. Nothing.
If that wasn’t bad enough, my room smelled like weed, and when I reported it to the front desk, the staff had the audacity to look annoyed, like I was bothering them. The attitude and unprofessionalism were off the charts.
The next day, as my friend and I tried to sort things out, one of the employees rolled her eyes at us. Yes, rolled her eyes — and this was after she made a mistake. It’s wild how little accountability this staff takes for their actions.
Then there’s the room itself. I booked a king-size bed but was given a room with two queen beds instead. No explanation. No apology. Just more of the same “you get what you get” attitude.
This experience was absolutely unacceptable. From the lack of communication to the rude behavior, I have never seen such blatant disregard for guests. Do not stay here. Your money, peace of mind, and patience deserve better. I am demanding a refund and will be filing a formal complaint with Wyndham corporate, the Better Business Bureau, and every review platform I can find.
Save yourself the stress and stay somewhere that values its guests.
