Clean comfortable room and bed. Lots of hallway noise, but that's expected when the hotel is at 100% capacity. Breakfast area is too small when the place is packed. We'll equipped Fitness center. The staff are great and very accommodating. I would highly recommend this hotel.
Spent last week in Mcallen . I do enjoy staying where there is a small Bar that will include Football/Baseball events and small scale socialization. The staff advised that there was "Happy Hour" starting at 5 pm nightly. Joe is the hospitality host and he provided a week of great hospitality to our crew. Very personable guy who you can enjoy having conversations with about a variety of different topics. Joe also provides the shuttle service and in several courtesy rides, he was prompt and professional upon his travels. Joe was a wonderful host and if you are able to share an evening at the 'Happy Hours" let him know the guys from West Texas say Thank You Joe!!
I have never left a negative review of a hotel. This place was repulsive, floors filthy, 1st room had cockroaches that were visible immediately upon walking in the door, curtains that were grey frail and dingy. The next room the key didn’t work so we were unable to enter but the hallways smelled like a soiled diaper. Went back to the front desk and he said he was so surprised and that the rooms are inspected by housekeeping. Then the maintenance man returned with a bottle of roach spray and apologized for everything. Next the man at the front desk said that I could try another room but there would be no refund and nothing else I could do. So we went to another room on the top floor. That room had small Graham crackers/other crumbs and debris on the floor but no noticeable bugs. We had no choice but to sleep in the car or stay as we just drove 9 hours and were desperate for rest. I paid over $100 for this room and it was filthy. I just don’t want anyone else to experience what my children and I did last night. I was shocked because we never had an experience like this at a Wyndham property, but I learned it’s a franchise and they aren’t affiliated with any other Wyndham family properties…please save yourself from the nightmare we experienced… Holiday in is immaculate, great service and not far away… try them or anyone else…. Avoid this dump!
Amazing service ! Amazing hospitality, we're very understanding that I was getting ready for my wedding so the flow of traffic was very nice, they even helped us out by providing Tylenol ???? but will definitely recommend this hotel and be coming back !
This is my favorite hotel in the valley. I come to visit McAllen pretty frequently and so far this has been my favorite. The staff is friendly and extremely helpful. Especially Joseph on the front desk - he always has a smile and a friendly conversation, and is all around very professional and kind. Even when I'm checking in at 3 or 4 am, Joseph has a friendly smile and is very efficient.
The rooms are always clean and cool. The pool and hot tubs are very well maintained as are the fitness room and laundry rooms. The morning breakfast is spot on for local breakfast (chorizo and eggs, nopalitos) as well as standard southern eats (biscuits and gravy). Everything here has been very clean.
I've now spent 9 nights here, over a span of 2 weeks and they haven't let me down yet for comfort and cleanliness. Also, we always have with us, my husband's service dog, and they are always welcoming to her as she does her job.
First time staying at a Wyndham Hotel. Overall a good experience. Room was clean. Kids enjoyed the indoor & outdoor pools. The breakfast on Sunday was great! Migas with scrambled eggs, ham & scrambled eggs, mashed beans, oatmeal- very good, salsa, pancakes, waffle maker & some of the ususal continental style breakfast offerings. The eggs were fresh cooked and the beans were not canned which was a big plus! Only areas for improvement are- coffeemaker in the room did not work, most of the jets in the hot tubs (pool area) did not work & water was not very hot, and the room did not have a microwave oven.
Great service and great hotel. Rooms are spacious and beds are comfortable. Breakfast included, plenty of parking.
The bathroom toilet was dirty but otherwise nice big room! I booked the superior suite and there was enough room for 6 people comfortably maybe more if just kids. Couch also pulls into a bed. Sucks that pool closes @ 10pm:(
