Me and my boyfriend had a last minute sticky situation this weekend and when we called this hotel and spoke to their staff they were extremely understanding and so incredibly sweet. They were so helpful in every single way and so incredibly kind. After a rough unexpected weekend it was so nice to see some smiles and to hear such kind words and have them help us with our stay. It’s right there on the beach and it was beautiful. The slow wake coffee and donut shop inside is so good and their staff was amazing as well! Super awesome how the hotel has a snack and beverage area. The arcade is super cute!! The heated pools are amazing! The staff at the manatees bar/ restaurant that’s beside the pool was super sweet as well and the drinks were amazing! There are so many things to do and places to eat at! So grateful to have been blessed this weekend with so much kindness and positivity from the staff and this hotel. ????
Positive: The room was great. I had a view of the beach. The staff that I interacted with were very friendly and helpful. Negative: I had to pay for parking. That is the first time in my life that I have had to pay for parking at a hotel. Also, breakfast was not free. Most hotels offer a free breakfast. One more thing they were supposed to start breakfast at 7 they start until 7:15.
I asked for and paid for an handicapped accessible room
. The room I got was nowhere near accessible. The room was tint, and you couldn't have fit a wheelchair in it. There was no seating or table. The "accessible" shower had no shower seat. The bed was hard as a rock. If I could I would give this place a negative star. The staff were for the most part indifferent to my needs. The person at the front desk was less than helpfull, and the person on the phone couldn't be understood because of their thick accent
I wouldn't stay another night if they paid me!! Will not recommend.
Great location, beautiful beach, 2 pools. Clean rooms. We had a balcony ocean view. Supplier issue with getting caffeinated coffee so we just went out each morning. The only ice machine in building A was broken & no one mentioned it when we checked in. We found another one near the pool 2nd day. Hotel charges $10/day for parking. Not sure why that's extra on private property. Need a car to get around but overall nice place to stay. Would recommend brooms to be kept in rooms to minimize sand everywhere.
Our stay at Wyndham Garden was time-consuming and stressful. My sister and I got a room for our mom, for her birthday, for one night. The time spent at the hotel from check in until we went to bed was bouncing from one room to another. The first room's lock didn't work correctly so we couldn't get into the room. The door to the balcony was also broken. We got moved into a second room. The room was warm but we left turned AC down and left for dinner. Came back and it was still warm. Maintenance man came and said AC unit needed to be changed so he recommended we change rooms again. When we were getting our things to leave second room we also saw dead roaches in different areas. For the third room I said I wanted either a refund or a better room. They claimed they couldn't give a refund so gave us a suite, which was nice, but freezing. We had to turn the entire unit off since it blasted cold air, no matter how high we turned the thermostat. And the remote control in the living room was very very sticky. ||||We will not be back and I definitely will not be recommending this place to anyone, if anything, I will be advising them NOT to stay here. Our time with our mom was going from one room to another and not even getting to enjoy the experience of staying at a beach hotel.
Ladies at check in were amazing. Great location not 2 busy right on beach. 2 pools in great condition. Housekeeping is always cleaning! Rooms need updating but good deal 4 the money spent. Recommend 4 sure. Only complaints is elevators at 1 point were down and all the doors slam shut
We were so disappointed. We lost our home in hurricane Helene and have been displaced for 2 months. We have recently been on the road for weeks looking for a new place to live and decided we would stop at a comfortable hotel on the beach in Ft. Walton, FL tonight on our way back down to Tampa where we have to take care of some business. Our #1 criteria was to have access to a hot tub because our bodies are hurting so bad after cleaning out our destroyed house and from being on the road for so long. We arrived at Wyndham Garden Ft. Walton about 8:45pm, changed into our bathing suits, and headed down to the hot tub, only to find out it closed at 9pm. We asked the guy at the front desk if we could please enjoy the hot tub for about 15 minutes, but he said no.
I called Wyndham directly at 7:45pm this evening before I booked the room for tonight to make sure they had a hot tub.
The girl I spoke with on the phone simply said yes, but didn’t tell me it would be closing soon.
It also doesn’t say it closes at 9pm anywhere on their website either.
We have to leave at 7am and found out the hot tub doesn’t open until 9am in the morning.
So, essentially we drove out of our way and paid a premium to stay at a hotel for an amenity we can’t use.
I’m extremely turned off by this hotel’s guests services.
Super nice resort right in the beach, great pools, facilities and location, loved the squirrels by the pool! Sunsets are great. Beds comfy, pool music good, and pool temperature perfect. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Water pressure in showers the best I’ve ever experienced. Good laid back place to stay in fort Walton
