Best WLM Reviews

Just recently this month I stayed at the hotel with my girlfriend. Being from Europe, the hotel prices in New York are definitely something most Europeans find unbelievable. However, this hotel had the best value by far (in my opinion). Breakfast was basic but a great start in the day, as it was included in the nightly fee (clearly stated on their website and in the messages I got sent by booking.com). Furthermore, one can always ask for more water bottles at the reception, which is of course standard for most 4-Star hotels but definitely not the norm for New York Hotels. I was really impressed by the kindness of the 4 female members and the one male member of front staff we encountered. In my case, they were patient and really helpful. Luggage storage worked perfectly and the room was really clean. Nevertheless, like almost every New York Hotel that is not 2.000$ per night, this one is a bit old and some cabinets or closets were slightly damaged. But the view and space of the room (again- comparison in New York) made up for that. Subway was really close too (I suggest Grand St, especially with luggage). Chinatown is a really vibrant neighborhood but it was always quiet enough to sleep. Overall, we had an amazing stay in mid-October!
This hotel is well placed for visiting chinatown and little Italy. The rooms are compact and well cleaned. Breakfast is reasonably okay but all the plates and cutlery are single use. Reception is helpful with guidance for visitors. If your room faces Bowery there are good views . If your room faces the side street and you want a view book higher than the 6th floor. Storage in the rooms is limited. We did not find the garden.
Rooms are alright. No microwave is included. No point in using the thermostat. Building was on hear, but I had room on cool, so room was still getting hot. Small fan provided upon request.
Bathroom was fine. Sink design is bad, if valves opened too much a lot of splatter will occur. Shower is big however no sliding door.
Location is pretty bad, but suitable to my trip.
Building was clean.
Staff is nice. Check in was slow. No early check in was possible (mainly due to occupancy).
Super solid budget hotel. Really nice staff and my room was very clean. Quiet at night was also a big plus. I was in NYC for business and never stayed in Chinatown before. I went all in. I did the 1 hr foot massage across the street - I ate at all the 5 star google rated dumpling and bakeries - INCREDIBLE. I shopped at all the dupe handbags places. Super enjoyable.
Bad hotel in a great location. Rooms are tired and run-down, with peeling wallpaper and broken cabinets.
Room was incredibly hot and stuffy despite being mid-November.
There are thermostats in the room, but they only blow hot air and don't actually work. The front desk said the temperature is controlled centrally, so turn off the thermostat and the room should cool down. That was an obvious lie because-
1) no air was coming out of the vents at all, making things worse, and
2) it did not cool down.
The front desk sent a fan but that didn't help. Two incredibly poor nights of sleep because of the heat. Controlling temperature centrally reeks of penny pinching.
Don't stay here. Go to a hotel that actually respects your time and money.
Two nights of terrible sleep makes for a bad vacation, and this hotel was the cause.
Prepare to sweat it out if you stay here, because you won’t be able to control the temperature of your room. Based on older reviews, this is a long standing issue they haven’t addressed.
Yes, this hotel has a great location. Rooms are the norm for NYC, small and slightly rundown. But what ruined our trip was two nights of sweltering heat (in November!) because rooms don’t control their own temperature. Over breakfast, we heard many other people with the same issue.
The front desk staff clearly know this is an issue and that nothing real can be done. They provide fans (doesn’t do anything) and offer to send the “engineering” team to take a look. All useless.
We absolutely loved our stay here !!!!|Location was great and loads of restaurants to eat in really close by either Chinatown or little Italy, bus and subway stops just around the corner. Staff were helpful and friendly and the whole hotel was spotlessly clean. The shower was always hot and the bed was comfy, couldn’t honestly ask for anything more. Definitely stay again if we return to New York.
Dirty hotel. Staff can't be bothered, air con blows constantly cold despite telling staff. Who commented thanks for that we will send engineer team in. Breakfast was very basic and staff were too busy on thier mobile phones, paying no attention to customers. You have yo boil your ien kettle if you want tea in the morning g which takes for ever and a day to boil
The hotel constantly stunk of weed just like the whole of chinatown did.
The hotel food was poor standard. There was no lounge areas to sit and relax especially when you have been in the city all day and return late yo your room not being cleaned. It really did put a downer on what should of been a special birthday treat. Staff were rude and inattentive. A lift was broken but it appeared that staff had a go at trying to fix it unsuccessfully then an engineer came in. Tired, worn out, drab hotel. Staff need basic hospitality training.
