I'll start out by saying we arrived the last hour they were open so I didn't expect much. To my surprise, the ribs were great as if just cooked, not dry. I order with sauce to the side so I can taste the ribs before. I actually preferred without the sauce. Not saying it was bad, but the ribs were fall off the bone delicious. The rest of our food was average. The shrimp was most likely fresh out the freezer. The person behind the counter was pleasant but never served us. We picked a table and ordered at the counter and picked up our food from the counter. All in all, I would go back for the ribs and maybe try something else.
One of my favorite bbq places in KC for 40 years. Best sauce in town. Very reasonably priced compared to most others. Definitely not fancy, but that's not what they're going for. It's not for everyone, but it's definitely for me ???? Combo sandwich and fries or a mixed plate is my choice for lunch but they have good ribs and turkey too! Decent pork tenderloin and I've heard (but haven't tried) the shrimp are fantastic.
If you want bang for your buck, this is it. From a burnt end sandwich the size of my head to endless pickles on a burger without even having to ask for it as well as HUGE sacks of fresh cooked French fries. The food was delcious, every bite, and the BBQ sauce on the burnt end sandwhich truely melted in my mouth. I strongly recommend this place and their wonderful, friendly atmosphere and delcious food.
The lady that runs the register is enough of a reason to never go to this place. Plus their claim to fame is their crinkle fries. Which says a lot when you’re a bbq place. Go to Slap’s. The food is 100x better

Second visit in 6 years and I remember why. You could plate the brisket in gold leaf and it wouldn't cover for the abysmal everything else. Enjoy your slow decline.
I ordered burnt ends and order of fries. The fries are always on point. This was the first time I ever got burnt ends from here. 2 chunks were pretty decent. The rest were dry, tough and actually crunchy, overcooked and stringy. There’s a trick to rehydrating tough burnt ends that this establishment does not attempt. I do BBQ too so I know some tricks. I have not ate it this location in a long time and mainly stop in for the sauce to buy and add to other sauces I prefer.

My most recent visit. the food tasted much better. Very busy took time to order. The food is still filling and priced well. Idk if it was just a good day. I'll be checking that the food is constantly good.

Entered through the back door. Right now, the front entrance is closed. The food is just okay! Some of the reviews say best in KC. In my opinion, this BBQ is at the bottom of the list. I rarely visit this location. They do serve big portions for fair pricing. The fries would be better if they cooked them longer and added seasoning. The BBQ sauce makes the fries taste better. It does not take long to receive an order. The workers are friendly.
You Don't mistreat the elderly. Manager threw food away after an elderly lady asked for a refund on burnt ribs. Manager touched them... said they were OK and offered them back to her. She said she didn't want them. He threw them away. Didn't offer a refund or new ribs. You effectively stole her money. We will never support a business like this. Everyone should be aware
