I was just discharged from here today. I had my son here 2 days ago. The staff was wonderful. All who attended to me were hospitable, attentive and kind. I see other reviews on here are terrible. However, I did not have any issues. I have no complaints. Thank you WVU Birthing Center for a great experience and taking well care of my son!
Look this is my last choice for a hospital I struggly prefer Winchester medical center or Morgantown hospitals.
But I came in to the ER on November 28th around 5:00-6:00 pm I think do to sever right side pain nausea and no appetite the front desk ladies were kind and attentive very surprising for a holiday. The ER doctor David and his nurse that over saw my care and needs were both awesome I give them both A+ the lady that did my CT scan was sweet and in good spirits for working alone on Thanksgiving!
Now I was admitted for appendicitis and taken up to my room rather quickly that was on the 5th floor it was obvious the poor nurses were understaffed even though they treated me and my 74yr old roommate very well I felt bad for them and angry at the hospital administration! You're telling me you'll pay traveling nurses almost 40 dollars an hour but not our local nurses? Quality care means kind compassionate well trained nurses techs and qualified doctors you can't put that on your website and signs in your hospital but still keep it so understaffed with a clear conscience.
My room wasn't cleaned once from what I remembe definitely needed it my nurses were great but once again understaffed with bed alarms going off and nurse call buttons going unanswered for quiet a bit in the early morning I say around 3:30 am?
Please build a new hospital with a design from Winchester medical book each of their rooms are private clean with a couch for visitors beautiful cafeteria with lots of natural lighting with a outside court yard plenty of parking and they never seem to have a staffing problem once again pay your nurses well.
I have had some health issues since my surgery that have been getting addressed by Winchester medical and valley health doctors.
Was sent to L&D due to a very bad fall I had today. All nurses and staff were so kind! Never been to this hospital before. They treated my 2 year old so nice as well as my husband. We were in and out and got good care to make sure the baby was checked on
We went to this hospital in August for delivery of our adopted baby. We(the adopted parents) were treated like garbage. The nurse was super pushy with her religious views.
My fiance was admitted last night there for a drug laced product. I am his emergency contact and I could not get the hospital to call me back. I could not get anyone to let me know if he was ok. It has been 24 since he was admitted and still no phone call.
This place is absolute garbage. How can a place be called a hospital if they will not work with families.
This is disgraceful.
I’ve been trying to find a place to submit a grievance. This is the best I’ve found. Berkeley treated me horribly after giving birth. If this will make one woman at least look around at her options, then I will have helped. It was 2 years ago and I’m just now starting to process it. I would highly recommend looking into their views on things like certain medications before entering. My actual labor was fine but immediately after was treated like trash. I can barely even think about it and I wish I was being dramatic. I will never have another child after the care I received. They stole a lot of joy from me and my husband when we should have been the happiest of our lives. A lot of the nurses should be held accountable for their actions.
First, my best friend had to go 3 times to ER till they figure out he needed brain surgery. Staff was kind, but come on. Then when you did MRI you came back in and said brain bleed heal itself. Ten minutes later apologizing said oh no Nero surgery is needed. Couldn't read MRI, I guess. Got great care after that. I went for myself to ER for a stomach bulge on left side. 5 hours later said in report thst I came in for stomach pain. No I didn't! Again staff was kind, but not up to diagnose par! Seriously, next time if I can get Winchester, will. Sorry kids kindness doesn't safe the patient...I think you guys taking in illegals has really hurt natives. Couldn't believe the emergency room, sad. Good luck
Not sure where to begin. Got here at 730p with my son who is an athlete but suddenly could not walk. It was after 11p before he was seen. He’s put into a room where the linen had not been changed. We asked 3 people to change it and no one lifted a finger so my son laid on the floor (yuck). 2 of the previously mentioned people saw him on the floor and still did not change the linen for him. It’s currently after midnight and we are still waiting for results from his scans. I used the bathroom and it was so filthy. I took pics and I’m ready to forward them to the BBB and the health dept. This is ridiculous.
Went to this hospital was having issues with breathing. They sent me away and told me it was nothing. I ended up going to Washington county hospital in Hagerstown found out my hemoglobin was at a 5.9. My ferritin was down to a two my iron saturation was down to a three if I hadn’t of used my own instinct I would not be here right now and I had one and a half pints of blood left in me when they’re supposed to be five. This Hospital is horrible. They were more worried about testing my blood for drugs when there was none in my system never in my life have I messed with drugs, then taken care of the of me in the same breath I was sitting in the waiting room and there was an elderly woman in her 80s with her hand on her heart, nobody was taking care of her, I had to go to the nurses station to get a nurse and they got an attitude at me. The lady ended up having a heart attack and I don’t know what happened to her. This hospital needs to be shut down. It is disgusting they don’t care about anybody the secretaries in the front have an attitude at everybody . They need to fire everybody in this entire hospital and start over again. If there is a Medical emergency, or somebody needs help take your family members or yourself down to Hagerstown, Maryland at Meritus this place is a joke I kept telling him something was wrong, but they would not listen to me
