Checked prices here before going.. got there and ordered the 5.99 extra large potato egg and cheese. Waited 20 mins for 1 burrito and was told it was 9.50. I explained that the menu online says 5.99. The guy laughed saying maybe 20 years ago. Again. This is the online menu TODAY. No worries. Lolis Cafe is right next door. Their prices are up to date. The food is way better as well.
Showed up just before closing so maybe that had a influence on the rating. The food was decently priced and was good tasting. My review stems from my order of a Chicharron taco. I expected the Chicharron to be cooked in salsa, instead I was served a flour tortilla with pork skins from a package and salsa poured on. The green salsa was good and had a nice kick to it. Maybe that type of Chicharron taco is the norm here, I was just not expecting it.
Expectations were met it was a mom and pop shop with decent food and price. The burritos weren’t available when we went. Overall the food was homey like going out at your Tia’s house.
The Best little hole in a wall cafe in San Marcos, TX. Waitress very attentive and on top of the game. The food was delicious and hot! Their green salsa hit the spot; we will definitely return to wow-wee's cafe!!
Me and my husband used to love coming to this place when we come to visit but today was just disappointing 04/20- they barely put any filling in the bacon and egg and it seemed like it was reheated since the egg had patches of dry egg scrambled, my husband got the huevos rancheros and they only gave him 1 tortilla no meat just beans and potato. Also they charge you for chips and salsa if you are ordering lunchtime items. Overall just very disappointed compare to the first few times we started coming here. This will be our last time here ????
Swriously, the best tacos/tortillas I have found in SM. Almost gave one star less due to their tortillas being expensive when bought individually, almost. Food and service, as usual, excellent. Don't get why they not busier, they should be.
Stopped by on the 16th, service was slow and then the waitress got our order wrong,then we had to ask for silverware.In our order my wife ordered a Dr.Pepper and we received a knock off brand when the table next to us had a real Dr.Pepper ,I hope race has nothing to do on how our poor service was determined (being that be my wife is anglo).It pains me that my hometown that was I birn in 1966 and grew up in is still this way. Whatever the matter we will not be returning to this substandard restaurant!
My husband had been wanting to try this place because he saw they had huge burritos. We finally did and unfortunately we were disappointed. Let's start with the positive, the server was nice, the green salsa was decent, and the prices are pretty reasonable. With that being said, you get what you pay for. We found the food to be bland, and in my case greasy. I ordered a bacon egg and cheese taco, that had very little filling, which is why I can't understand why so much grease was dripping out of it. Final thoughts, we wanted to like this place, but it just isn't for us.
