We have had a great experience while staying at Kingstown Reef. It’s a very well kept facility with great staff. Our rental car headlights were left on in the middle of the night and they called to let us know so we did not wake up to a dead car battery. We requested additional towels and we got a follow up call making sure that we had received them, and I really appreciated the thoroughness.
We booked this room January 23rd because we were going to EDC Orlando, we drove from Knoxville Tn, nearly a 10 hour drive, just to arrive to hotel and them tell us that our booking had been cancelled. Today is Thursday, they sent us our itinerary on Monday, nothing was mentioned about our reservation being cancelled, nor was there a refund in our bank account. So here we are, standing in the parking lot, trying to find a hotel room for 5 people, during one of the busiest times in Orlando. This is absolutely deplorable and leaves us without a place to stay so far from home. We will never book with this hotel again and I warn you to not book with them either, you may not even get your room.
From needing to check-in as late as we did the staff took care of us right away. The grounds were very well cared for. We had a 2 bedroom that included the 2 twin beds a queen sofa sleeper and a king bed. I loved the kitchen and dining area. And there was not 1 but 2 patios to sit and enjoy views. You won't be disappointed with this.
Rooms are all newly renovated and really do smell like a new shoe. Location is kind of out of the way, depending on which building you get. We were at Gables and it takes a bunch of speed bumps and turns just to get to the building. Not much close parking at all, maybe 10 or so spots. Laundry is shared also. Very quiet area which is nice. We neither heard nor seen any guests during our 4 days besides workers. Not a bad stay tho with all that being said and would stay again for a good deal for sure!
We have stayed here before. One of our favorite places to stay in the Orlando area. The location is great for the parks. The rooms are comfortable and in good shape. The cost is reasonable. Check in was a little off. We had to wait about an hour after check in time for the rooms to be cleaned. That was partially on us too. Waiting allowed us to have our three rooms to be together. We would recommend staying here.
We stayed here for our week-long visit to the Disney parks. The facilities were nice and well cared for and the staff was very friendly. I made use of the hot tubs on a daily basis to help deal with a sciatica issue and was very pleased.
Positive: Other than it being a Wyndham property it was an absolutely horrible experience. The front desk staff member was 110% horrible. Negative: Customer service is lacking. Overselling the hotel is their error especially when we had been paid in full for several months. Lack of care and concern the front desk staff member was ridiculous and he was rude beyond belief.
I had booked a stay here for our recent family vacation since it was part of a package. When we arrived at the hotel immediately our rental car after our red-eye flight, I came to find out the hotel CANCELED my reservation without my knowledge. Like any other hotel, I purposefully booked the day before to ensure an early check-in for after our red-eye flight. There was no way we could wait until 4:00pm that day with a two year old. Apparently, only timeshare owners can book the day before they intend to arrive. I had to argue with the staff, then the manager, to either give me the room I reserved or refund me. I could not understand why, when you provide contact information, no one contacts you in a situation like this. They literally were trying to just take my money with no explanation.
Well.....We finally did get a room, which was not as described in my original booking and looked nothing like the pictures provided. There was only one king in one room and two doubles in the other; not three king beds. The queen pull-out bed in the living room was dirty and disgusting with crumbs and stains. We just decided to stay here since we were all very tired and hungry since this whole fiasco took several hours to "resolve."
All I can tell you is that this place is disgusting and not worth "owning" any part of it. I originally booked a 2 bed, 2 bath suite, and from the original booking pictures, it looked fantastic. Because of the above-mentioned fiasco, the manager could only give us a room in their Veranda building, room 1202. That room looked nothing like what I expected. All I can say is that both bathrooms were gross; there was black mold in the showers, dirty grout, and scale on all the faucets. All the air vents were also dirty and had what looked like mold on them, too. The dishwasher had scale in it too and left dishes and cups still wet and dirty.
This hotel has no "services" at all. They even charge for Wi-Fi. The "promo code" they gave us as compensation for the "inconvenience" of all of this didn't work. You have to change your own bed(s). We had to attempt to make our beds.....with no fitted sheet. They give you an old manual sweeper style "vacuum" that doesn't work so you can clean your own room. The maintenance staff "makes rounds" but will not pick up any trash or linens left outside, even though they pass by your room. You have to call the front desk and request it.....EVERY TIME. In my original room booking, it made it seem like the room had a stackable washer and dryer inside one of the closets as it was mentioned in the room amenities particular to that specific room. Nope.....their washer and dryer is in a small room by the elevator. One washer and one dryer.....for the ENTIRE floor, which has at least 10 or more rooms. They're only on the 2nd, 4th, and 5th floors, so if three guests are already doing laundry, you'll have a long wait. They do provide a small square laundry basket for you to use. One ice machine is on the 3rd floor.....for the ENTIRE building. There are also no vending machines on property or meals of any kind provided during your stay. I'm not sure where the "restaurant" mentioned by another reviewer is on this property, but there was none that I saw during my stay.
Their call and text requests to "claim your room incentives" are excessive. I'm sorry, but I'm not going to sit through a several hours long timeshare presentation just to get a gift card with a few bucks on it, especially with a two year old. This place is not worth "owning." It's basically like staying in an apartment complex.
There is nothing "resort" about this place. Save your time and headache and stay at a luxury hotel like a Hilton or Marriott property. They at least clean your rooms, make your beds, and provide you with necessities without asking, and don't charge for Wi-Fi. Even though it is in a good location and within a short driving distance to Walt Disney World Parks, Universal Orlando, and Sea World, I would not recommend staying here.
I love the scripted reply. No compensation for this experience.
