Best WLM Reviews
The rooms were redone. Beautiful, clean with new appliances but still don't have daily house keeping. All in all I will definitely be coming back and recommend you stay there. It's within walking distance of the beach and Coconuts (tacos).
This is a wonderful resort across the street from a beautiful beach. The room photos need to be updated. All carpet from the main living area has been removed and replaced with hardwood looking floors. This is great and terrible! Great, because it is so easy to keep clean. Terrible, because if there are heavy walkers above you, it sounds like they are dropping boulders on your head! We asked to be moved, and the staff was extremely helpful.
The beds were comfortable, and enough pillows to find the firmness/softness you need.
The concierge is one of the most knowledgeable people I have ever met. She is a walking Google search for the island of Maui - where to go, where to eat, best fishing, best luau's, when the best time to see the biggest waves, she knows it all! We did book our tours prior to arriving on the island. In hindsight, I may have waited until we checked in to book through the resort.
We booked two 2-bedroom and one 1-bedroom unit for a mini-family reunion.
The resort is conveniently located in the middle of the island, making exploring both the north and south shores very easy. We chose to take a tour bus to the Road to Hana (marital bliss call).
We were there for a week. Drove the whole island. Used one tank of gas!
Arrived a little early and they said that our room would be available at 4pm because early check in was not possible. After arriving to the front desk at 4pm they told us that it would still be another 20 minutes to get our room.
Not to mention we came here in two large groups on vacation and they completely separated us. One group was at one end of the resort while we were on the opposite side. And there is nothing they can do to change that. Mind you, we planned this over a year ago. They dropped the ball. They made no accommodations and only wanted us to understand that this is their busy season.
Meanwhile while groceries got warm.
They gave zero attention to our case and simply had us waiting.
Great experience no real complaints the hotel is maybe a 2-3 minute walk to the beach that includes the crosswalk wait time so very convenient. The abc store is also really close for groceries or the amazing deli and it’s ready made food is a great option that’s not as expensive as eating out. I didn’t go to the pool cause the beach is so close didn’t see why. They have a great gym with access pretty much all times with key card. Lots of cats and chickens around. The cats are all fixed I guess it’s part of a program that helps keep pests away from hotel lizards or any other.
Super close to beach. Food Truck and Shaved Ice Truck readily available curbside. Beautiful pool and hot tub area. We also made necklace and bracelets on their craft evening
The floors were filthy. You need to wear shoes and wash your feet before bed.
Walls are thin and you can hear your neighbors walking around and moving furniture.
Slept in the Murphy-bed, it was okay. Had to wear earplugs because the noise of the refrigerator. Also, can’t see the tv from the Murphy-bed.
You are required to empty your own trash and replenish your own towels.
Spa was broken one day due to broken part. Pool was too cold to swim. Spa just a tad too hot.
Nice kitchens and plenty of gas BBQ’s on the grounds with new picnic tables for owners to use.
Wi-Fi is horrible, drops several times a day requiring you to log back in with username and password. TV drops signal just as bad. Could not watch a show without having to restart TV several times. Not good if you have kids.
Absolutely loved the area! Beach is right across the street, close to shopping & lots of food choices.
We stayed in a 2 bedroom, which was comfortable. Rooms were newly renovated. Bathrooms are a little small. We had no extra blankets the first night and it seemed like with any requests, we had to wait a whole day to be accommodated which was odd as we never had that issue with any other Worldmark. Either way, staff was great. Appreciated the discounts on excursions as well.
Would definitely stay here again.
We got a 1bed/1bath on the second floor in a building near the pool, which was awesome! Great amenities, friendly staff (especially Kim!), and SUPER close to a calm beach that I thought was Kihei Cove. You can totally see the beach from the second floor, simply cross at the traffic light and you're there! Though we're the type to reserve touristy things months in advance, it might be better to book activities with the steep Worldmark Discount. Directly after check-in, Kim sent us to Carla to book a snorkel activity that we both really enjoyed for $80 cheaper than Viator. There's an awesome food truck next to the driveway, and we got shave ice to enjoy in the hot tub on more than one occasion. There's also a food program to address food waste, and a neighbor who checked out a few days before us generously donated eggs, ham & cheese, chips & salsa, salads, etc. It's a great way to save some money on food budget! We only ran the dishwasher ONCE at the end of the week, and I was pleasantly surprised that all the crusty (and some moldy) gunk was washed away even after sitting dirty for several days.
I especially appreciate that the "Owner Presentation" was so chill, the salesperson immediately understood that we weren't going to buy more points and instead spent our time suggesting cool places to visit or foods to try. It's nice that we didn't have to keep saying "no." [NY Midtown seller take notes plz].
The one thing that I didn't appreciate was that I asked for a wake-up call for the Haleakala Sunrise --and whoever from the lobby said they would!!-- there was no wake-up call. Bruh. Why would you say someone would call if nobody would??? It's okay, though, we had like 17 alarms as back up.
