Best WLM Reviews
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the hotel and loved its location. The views were spectacular, and the overall experience was great—until after checkout.
The hotel charges a $100 deposit, which is supposed to be refunded unless there are damages. However, the charge posted to my card, so I contacted the hotel for clarification. Despite explaining multiple times that the charge had indeed posted, the staff insisted they couldn’t issue a refund because they claimed the charge didn’t exist. The receptionist’s tone was both unprofessional and apathetic, which only made the situation worse.
Unfortunately, this negative experience is enough for me to decide not to return or recommend this hotel.
Pros
Great Location and everything is in Walking Distance. You can walk to the 9/11 Memorial, 10 min walk to The Ferry that takes you Statue of Liberty Area and ellis island, 15 min Walk to Brooklyn Bridge and City Hall where George Washington became the First President, 10 min walk to The New York Stock Exchange, only thing that is Far away is Time Square which is over a hour walk but you can take the Subway Near by for $2.90 a ride and its about 8 to 9 stops away.
Cons
Hotel does not include Breakfast and Room Service has to be requested. If you need toilet paper or towels or the bed made after a few night stay you have to text a number they give you or ask the front desk.
Advise
When you take the elevator you need you scan your room card before you press the floor level to go up. When coming down you don’t have to scan your room card on the Elevator. If you have someone lock the door in your room it will not open it will blink Orange and Yellow, does not mean your room card is bad, Just Knock.
Gym has the Best Equipment I have seen in a Gym but it is located on a floor and is not on the Ground Floor. Make sure to ask. Currently they are working on the top floor for the look out.
Bill’s Bar has a Great Burger and it’s Cheap right next to Hotel 1 min walk. Looking for Good Food and Time.
There is a Coffee Bar at Hotel
Overall a 8.5/10
An exceptionally professionally organized hotel that impresses with its automated check-in system, spaciousness, cleanliness and friendly staff. The rooms are very large and extremely quiet. The great view speaks for itself. And a small but valuable plus: there is free drinking water for hotel guests. 5 out of 5 stars. Will definitively come back.
A great Hotel in the center of New York's financial district. Just beside the Twin Tower memorials and the modern Fulton subway complex connecting to the World Trade Centre and also includes the Westfield shopping centre.|Also a visit worth is the Greek Orthodox Church besides the hotel. |Staff very competent and polite. |Walking distance to the North cove Yacht Harbor and Brookfield Shopping centre. With the subway you can reach most places in good time.
Honestly tremendously disappointed. I booked a room for my birthday months in advance and paid a couple hundred extra for a “Superior, King, View, Sofa bed room” only to arrive at the hotel and get a room on the second floor room overlooking an alleyway full of trash with a queen bed. According to the front desk it was supposed to be an “upgrade” because it had a kitchenette and a little bit more room… but it was a queen bed. To me I feel like that’s a 100% a downgrade for the price when I specifically booked the hotel to have a larger bed and a nice view. When called to see if we could change the room the type we booked wasn’t available unless I wanted to have two twin beds…. Kinda killed the mood a little on my birthday…I personally wouldn’t recommend booking here if that was what you were looking for.
Booked 9 days here as we were getting married in New York and my partner was turning 60, the hotel were made aware of this. Paid much more than usual rates ($550 per night) due to the UN conference, so very disappointed. Room was dark, dingy, in need of some redecoration and the view was of the AC unit, we could hear the lifts all night even with ear plugs. Would not recommend.
We booked a room for three people through Hopper, choosing this hotel over another because the photos showed a spacious layout with 417 sq ft advertised. However, upon check-in, the room felt significantly smaller—around 200ish sq ft. When we raised this with the hotel staff (Spencer), he insisted it was just a “different room plan” and became argumentative about the size. The check-in itself was a hassle, with rooms not ready on time. To make matters worse, we found a dead cockroach in the room that no one removed despite our request, and the kitchen area we asked to be cleaned was still untouched by checkout. Overall, the hospitality was extremely disappointing, and the staff seemed indifferent. Would not recommend. The text number mentioned in their elevator would give no response or won’t fulfil requests, they don’t pick the phone and front desk requests were also not served at times.
I stayed for a week with my mom in two separate rooms on two separate floors (10th, 12th floors) and we both found our experience to be better than expected. Clean, friendly, easy to check in and convenient for the daily in and out. Nice views, quiet part of town, easy access to everything. There is a very nice coffee station downstairs and hydration stations on most floors in the hallway. The elevators move quickly and we felt safe and secure day and night. The fountain at the memorial was nice background noise with the glass doors open.
