Best WLM Reviews

I had the pleasure of enjoying breakfast at Word of Mouth, and it was fantastic! The cinnamon pancakes were perfectly fluffy and had just the right amount of sweetness—absolutely delicious. The scrambled eggs were cooked to perfection, light and flavorful. The fresh fruit cup was a refreshing touch, with a nice variety of ripe and juicy fruits. The attention to quality and detail in the food really stood out. I’ll definitely be returning for another amazing meal!
As you walk in you are greeted by a young lady with an iPad. The wait is quite long even for small parties. We had never frequented this place before and decided to give it a try. It’s an old house that has been modified to seat people on the front porch, living room, dining room part of the kitchen. The wait in our opinion is too long for the quality of service and food that you will receive. It’s OK, overpriced but does give you that touch of Portland if that’s what you’re after.
This place is a must try if you’re looking for great breakfast and good service. We had the fried chicken smothered in gravy, SOOO GOOD! The eggs Benedict was DELISH! On top of that we were gifted a yummy slice of brioche toast as an act of kindness. The best part, their mimosas are to not be played with, they pack a punch so be sure to get one of those too. Lastly was their hot chocolate which was a kids dream!
We were down visiting from Canada, and I felt like I got more than my money's worth with this meal. I ordered the Biscuits and Gravy (because we don't have that in Canada ????), and it was delicious. I feel like the sausage is made in house because it doesn't taste like anything I've had before. You could really taste the sage, which I loved. My partner ordered a side of sausage, and you could taste cooked onions which is unique and really added great texture and flavor. The biscuits were huge, very tender, and flavorful, with loads of Country Pork Sausage Gravy on top. The portion was massive; I couldn't finish my meal. My partner ordered the Cinnamon Roll Pancakes which were also delicious. I'm not a sweet breakfast person and even I would order those. Yummy! If we are ever back in Portland, we will be back!
WOM is just what Salem needs! The food is fresh & delicious. The service is outstanding!! It does get very busy, but all the employees are super helpful. Kelly is top notch. We look forward to seeing her each time, because we can trust her recommendations and she does a phenomenal job taking care of her folks!!
This is Salem Oregon's little gem of a breakfast/lunch restaurant. Definitely expect a wait and know that the parking lot is tiny but you should be able to find some street parking about a block away. Food and service has always been fantastic.
Great small venue with a warm, fun vibe. Wait time was shorter than quoted and the customer service was fantastic! Our server was very personable and seemed genuinely interested in us and our satisfaction. Would recommend!
Today I treated myself to a special breakfast at Word Of Mouth Neighborhood Bristo. It's a small old house converted into a Bristo. The decor brings charm and nostalgia from your warmest memories of family gatherings. The whole house is adorned with pictures of dogs from previous and current owners. Old tapestry-covered seats, dusty pinks, beautiful teals, in rich mahogany woods. I felt like I was back at my grandmother's home where you are welcomed with open arms. The smell of coffee brewing and bacon frying hit me at the door. The waitresses were buzzing about to serve their hungry guests. Folks, if you plan on going for breakfast I recommend getting there early. I arrived at 8:30 am and I scored the last seat at the bar. The entire house was packed. The hospitality was so gracious and the service was beyond approach. Now, let's talk about the food. I ordered the biscuits & gravy breakfast. Omg, my food was so décadent, my eggs were scrambled into a creamy light sea of love. The thick bacon slices were fried in sin. ???????? I can't eat for the rest of the day, lol. They bake their breads, and muffins, from scratch, so you can taste the fresh high-quality ingredients in every bite. Next time you're in the mood for a home-cooked meal, stop by the Word Of Mouth Neighborhood Bristo. The waitresses are working hard to make your experience delightful. I will be back for more...
