Customer service is nonexistent in this place. Only reason I gave the 2 stars was because the food was decent. If my mother didn’t love this place I definitely would not patronize them at all.
Shoutout to the rude ass cashier JR. Not only did he NOT acknowledge me when I was standing at the counter, but dabbed it out with a co-worker counting money while myself and 3 other people stood in line patiently waiting to place our orders. All he had to do was look up and say one moment please. That’s it. Perhaps they should invest in sending the people who take the orders to a customer service training. They are the first point on contact for the business. Definitely not the proper way to run a business and fastest way to turn people off from patronizing the business.
JR. Needs some professional training ASAP! Maybe he should shadow Telly the young lady who actually acknowledged me and took my order.

F Rating. If I could score -1 I would. I've never left a poor review but no place deserves it more than Woody's Slauson location. (There's a Florence location from what I saw online but this review is not for there because I did not visit that one.) Customer service was average, they also accept orders placed over the phone. When you get there you'll notice there's no place to sit and eat and no restroom to wash your hands before you eat. Mac n cheese is on the menu but I was told I couldn't order it maybe they ran out or it's no longer an option, I'm unsure why. This place also takes cash only. No card, mobile or contactless options which is unacceptable for a business in 2024. There is a card reader by front register which appears capable but the cashier assured me it is not and apologized for the cash only requirement also not being mentioned over the phone during the phone order. To further disappoint there is also no ATM present. My final disappointment was from the two men I bought ribs and links for who classified the taste as average and did not finish their food. Cleanliness is questionable. Their side door near food prep area is kept open to the parking lot, I figured the reason related to ventilation. I would not recommend this place fir your BBQ needs nor will I be a returning customer. Disappointed on almost every level of customer experience.
It's like stepping into a mom and pops shop. You can smell the deliciousness from a mile away. It's like the smoke lures you there. Prices are fair and food is extraordinary. All my family loves eating here. Order in advance or just have your mouth water as you wait for your order to come out. They are very professional and have speedy service.
It's Woody's the best BBQ in LA especially the beef ribs.
My food was Great. The wait was a little longer than I anticipated. It’s a cash only establishment. So make sure you have cash ???? my chicken dinner was really delicious. Prepared perfectly. Wasn’t dry. The rib tips were good as well. I also ordered the sliced beef sandwich ???? with mixed sauce. I was really happy with my purchases.
If you like flies while you're waiting for your BBQ this is the place to be .Went in there with Short pants and they were aiming for my legs while waiting very uncomfortable no chairs to wait. Only standing.When getting the ribs with sauce I taste more sauce than meat flavor and the chicken sausage was cut sloppy no professional at all. The BBQ beans taste like tomato sauce. Sorry to say the only thing good is the bread keep looking for bbq ???? not recommended.
First time at Woodys on Slauson,I ordered rib tips,bbq beans and potatoe salad.It was soooooo good and they give you alot enough for two people. Next time I'm in La I will definitely be returning.
This is probably the best bbq in the area I do come here to eat when ever I’m in the area. If I working in the area I do ask people local here where’s a good bbq spot and they always recommend this location. The chicken sandwich is fire!???????????? you can take the smoke and their sauce they use is beyond good! Their beef hot links is really spicy so be careful with that if you can’t handle spicy food. Look I highly recommend this bbq you have to try it!
