Best WLM Reviews

This place has the potential for 4 stars. To start with the elevator smelled like week old curry, the hall floors were sticky, a roach landed on my shoulder when I walked in the room, and I spent the night worried they were going to crawl on me while I slept which would have caused an alergic reaction. I couldn't take a shower because there were roaches crawling around in the tub. The remote had no backing so the batteries kept falling out. Trash was left under my bed, and the "Blanket" provided was nothing more than a sheet.
Upon checkout the office wasn't open yet, there was no drop box for the keys, and there was a whole family sleeping in what passes for a reception lobby. Including 2 children about the ages of 3 and 8.
I truly believe if they increased pest control to once per week, added an insulating blanket to their beds, insured housekeeping actually picked up everything and properly mopped the hallways, installed a drop box that fed into the office, and increased security to their reception area, this could be a 4 star hotel easy.
Accomodations for my fur baby were included!???? We were treated like family.|The room was perfect and the air conditioner was amazing ????.|One staff member stood out, his name is Laquan.|Pie ( fur baby ) usually will not let a man touch her, but she likes him...and I trust her judgement more than anyone else. That says it all!
Alright, I'm not quite sure where to start with this review other than from the moment my fiance and I booked the hotel to now.
We are from Minnesota and had planned to travel to San Antonio for my birthday/the solar eclipse as well as to visit family in the area. We had originally booked at one location but when we found there was another for the same rate but closer to our family we wanted to see if we could change our reservation. The woman we spoke with stated there was a room available and would hold it while we cancelled our other one. Called our original one and cancelled. When we called the new WoodSpring to book there was a new person we spoke with who tells us, "ya sorry there's nothing available anymore" we LITERALLY just talked to some 30 seconds before this call who was holding a room for us. We gave him our info and he continued to tell us there was nothing on hold for us or currently available. He then proceeds to tell us of another location (the one we are currently at that this review is mostly for) and says they have a room available. Great, he transfers us over and the person at this location proceeds to tell us they have nothing available. I'm not sure what this huge miscommunication is but it's incredibly irritating and frustrating being transferred 3 separate times. Eventually they had an availability we were able to grab.
Since we are from Minnesota and we're planning to drive we were going to arrive late. We called the hotel to make them aware of this and told them we would be arriving between 2:30 and 3:00 am. The front desk stated that it was fine. What he failed to tell us was that the rooms get rotated at 3:00 am so if you don't check in by then you lose the room. Due to construction getting into San Antonio we had arrived a little after but the hotel did not make us aware of the 3:00 am policy. When we tried checking in we waited for 15 minutes before someone came to help us only for them to tell us our room was no longer available. At 3:00 with 2 dogs with us we had to sit there and scramble while the front desk tried setting us up with a new room. Unbelievable. There was a man riding around the parking lot on a bicycle who made me extremely uncomfortable with catcalling me and heckling me and multiple sketchy looking individuals hanging around the entrance who without hesitation immediately asked my fiance for change when he was walking in to check-in.
Once in our room we immediately noticed the place reeked of cigarette smoke and I'm not talking about your old aunt Judy's house that she has smoked in since the 70's that now permanently smells of stale cigarettes. I'm talking like it smells like there's a person chain smoking Marlboro reds in the room next to us. My fiance has asthma and has been having breathing issues since we got in here. The hotel must be aware of the smell because the hallway smells like cheap apple scented glade air freshener sprayed over it.
There's moldy caulking between the wall panel and edge of the tub in the bathroom, tub doesn't look like it's been scrubbed in years, and the cupboards in the kitchenette had wood paneling coming off and was NASTY dirty. Pretty sure they don't get wiped down at all. There are no lamps anywhere in the room so the overhead lighting is all you get, the only table in the room is wobbly, and the bed linens feel like they're recycled hospital bed blankets. The fridge doesn't get cold despite the temp being at the lowest setting, the carpet is frayed and coming up where it meets the hard floor in the kitchenette, and the only thing on the nightstand is an alarm clock that looks like it's from 1990. This room in general doesn't appear to have been updated in 20+ years but since it was already paid for up front I'm stuck here till my check out. I know they always say you get what you pay for but you TRULY will get what you pay for if not less in this place. I hate leaving negative reviews but this place is a health issue at this point considering my fiances asthma but we're out the money so can't even get something else.
LaQuan made this hotel experience wonderful.|He was very professional and helpful! |He is outgoing and kind! Because of LaQuan I will choose this location next time I am in town and needing an extended stay place. WoodSpring Suites is a great hotel!
I've been staying here for 2 weeks now and My stay has been pleasant. Quan usually works nights and has always been a great help. Very friendly and great customer service. He is always making sure as a customer that I am satisfied. My stay here has been comfortable
The majority of the rooms have roaches and poor cleaning by housekeeping. I found several small dead roaches by my bed and in the bathroom. Bring a can of RAID spray if staying here. The side door key lock is broken so anyone can come in. The A/C doesn't stay on during the night. I stayed a week and was sent a online survey. I got the same generic response all these bad reviews got. Will, the district manager doesn't really care about the poor condition of this place.he gets paid regardless. Hence, why he responds with the same message from every bad review. No change. When he does speak he is polite but usually he hides up front at the desk in the corner in his chair trying not to be seen or bothered smh. For the poor roach infested conditions, I'm surprised they would dare change $75 or higher certain weekends. And now they're charging $10 late fee if you pay after 11am. Hopefully they use all that money to pay pest control to come by
The rooms are filthy and the only Staff member that was nice was the guy that wears the chain with a Q medallion. The rest where just flat out rude. Also there are cockroaches all over the room. Never again
Oh my god where do I begin….. I walked in and got mugged at the front desk while management just stood there and waited for me to hand them my ID so we could check in to our room on the 3rd floor.
Upon exiting the elevator I was met with the smell of old dogs and funkdaddy. Got to the room and the beds were cots. Ac kept shutting off in the middle of the night so I would wake up moist to the brim. Also had to feed the cat at 3am and realized I don’t own a cat. Not to mention the abundance of roaches. The next night I’m pretty sure someone got shot over a bad poker game. Next morning after check out I walked out to my car on bricks.
Overall bad experience
3/5 stars.
