Best WLM Reviews
Agreeing with the other reviews that this place stinks. And while I can understand not having pots and pans in every room due to cost not having a bowl, pate, cup and silverware is ludicrous. These are very basic supplies and if you can’t provide them you should just switch to being studio apartments, not hotel suites. For pots and pans they should be available upon request, free for the first week to accommodate travelers not only for purchase. That’s just a cheap scam.
Furthermore the real issue, the room I stayed in legitimately had a hole in the window!!!! When I first noticed it upon checking in I had rushed down to alert the staff because I thought that must not have known to have booked me or anyone in the room. I figured they would want to get it fix and I also didn’t want them to think I was at fault. They knew and were very kind, they just hadn’t been able to get a maintenance person out. You should not be putting people in this room until that is fixed.
They seem to have a problem cleaning the carpets there, this has happened several times since I've been there. They have run a carpet cleaning machine for 40 min right ouside my door, and it was not even dirty? It was not the entire hallway, that took several hours, just a few feet right in front of my door, I have also witnessed other residents complaining about this as well. I complained to the front desk and they did nothing about it. They are also supposed to clean the room every 2 weeks, I have been here more than 6 weeks, and they have never cleaned my room.
Front desk is friendly and kind people , generally hotel is clean but its smells like weed on upper floors and bathrooms biggest problem is they have advertised with house keeping but turns out they will send someone to clean the room only after 15 days of stay. So remember if you stay for about a week no one will come to clean up the room, make your bed or change towels or mob the floor.
The hotel smells like weed, inside and outside. The beds are noisy and hurts your back. The walls are thin like paper. People screaming in the hallways, cars playing loud music outside in the middle of the night, parking lot barely fit the amount of cars that supposed to fit, there’s some abandon cars in there too. The laundry room is disgusting. Felt unsafe. Avoid if you can.
This hotel is the physical embodiment of mediocre. It's literally lipstick on a pig. It feels like a hospital room. Tries to look like a decent place, but everything is just good enough to not be bad. The bed isn't the worst but it's definitely not great. The room decor is virtually non-existent. The WiFi is downright abysmal (2 MB/s download; unacceptable in this age and location!). And the best part: you can only register 2 devices per room for WiFi. Even if less than two are connected at the time, you can't try to use another. I had to use my phone's hotspot so I could do some work.
Just go, like, literally anywhere else. Don't even waste your time here.
Review of my one night stay (traveling for business 9/23-9/24.
Room: worst night's sleep. Springy bed, 2 flat pillows that don't fit the bed. 50 ct thread sheets and hospital grade blanket. Floor was sticky. Full kitchen, with no cooking or eating utensils.... so I have no idea how travelers can cook a meal there. No in room coffee pot. Seems like a waste for tourists or those traveling for business. The entire hotel smelled like weed. No hand towels or tissues. No hair dryer. 1 bar of soap and a small bottle of what may have been bodywash (note: I was so disgusted with the room I didn't use the shower). Sheets were stained.
I've stayed at Home2Suites, Homewood Suites, Fairfield Suites. This hotel is not up to the level of the others. Not even close. It was more like a dorm room-an empty shell.
Guests: This appears to be a hotel where a lot of people actually live.
Service: the front desk employees were nice, but I did think it was weird that the woman at check in made a copy of my drivers' license. No hotel I have ever stayed in the world has done that. My guess is that the hotel policy must require that because of issues with guests... which should have been my first clue something was off about this place. Did it make me want to immediately run? Yes! But I would have had to eat the cost of the hotel room.
I've seen many responses on the reviews from the manager saying "sorry to hear about the bad review...that's not the level of service we are known for." But if there are this many bad reviews all basically saying the same thing, it must be the level of service you are known for and give.
Location: it was a 10 minute drive from my meeting the next day, and has easy access to main highways. For my purposes, the location was great. There were a lot of restaurants in driving distance but nothing walkable other than a strip mall that seemed sketchy at night.
If you are a family or solo traveller traveling for business or pleasure, avoid this hotel at all costs. The concerning reviews are accurate.
The absolutely worst experience ever. I booked the room almost 1 month 1/2 before needed...I booked the biggest room which was available back in Aug for total $426 I was called about 2 weeks before my stay and was informed the room isn't available. I needed to sleep 5 guest. I was then informed the only accommodation was 2 rooms at $328 a piece. I have ppl flying in from out of town, this was a disaster. I spoke to Choice rewards they say ohhh we can give u one room at $328 and a comp room 9 miles away for one of your other guest to stay alone. I had to make a reservation somewhere else 12 days before my wedding...PLEASE PLEASE AVOID THIS HOTEL, WORST EXPERIENCE EVER, STAFF HORRIBLE AS WELL. I wish I can give no stars.
Avoid this hotel at all costs. It is part of the Choice Hotel chain of hotels, however, it is far inferior to anything I've seen from them.
The ENTIRE hotel stinks of marijuana - the hallways, the elevators and the rooms. Our room was the exception ... Instead of smelling of marijuana, stunk of strong strong body odour.
We would have asked for a different room, but the whole hotel smelled awful. We had two rooms - one for our adult children and it smelled of pot too. At the time, there was no point in changing rooms because we would have just been changing one stink for another. We just had to keep our window open the whole time!
When we did complain at checkout, they smirked. In compensation, they waived our $7 wifi fee.
We complained to Choice Hotels but their only resolution was to offer us points. They also said they would file a complaint to the hotel. (No one called us to follow up from the hotel.) They also suggested we call to speak to the manager. When we called the number online, it kept disconnecting. We called back Choice Hotels, they put us through a different number but no one ever picked up and there was no voicemail.
Overall, the hotel literally stinks and the staff is not interested in taking their guests' complaints seriously.
I deeply regret having stayed here!
