Best WLM Reviews
Terrible customer service, dirty, and poor facilities.
ONLY positive remark would be they allowed me to check in early.
I asked to check out just 30 mins late, in my 15 years of staying in hotels that has never been a problem, and I was flat out told no. Checkout was at 11am and the front desk staff was knocking on my door at 10:30 asking if I was going to check out now. Because you can cook in the room, I needed extra time to clean the dishes. Bring EVERYTHING you could possibly need because there is no soap in the kitchen or bathroom. Bed sheets were dirty and stiff. Bed was SO hard. I'd say I guess you get what you pay for, but several hotels in the area cost just as much for likely better care for their guests. Also, I screen spotted the flyer online that said $40/night for your pet and she charged me $56 which is more than half the price for the room itself! That room was already dirtier than my small dog could even make it in one night, that is just a ridiculous fee. Will not ever stay at a Wood Spring facility again.
Woodspring was my home for 8 months. Everyone I met there was super friendly and caring. It was quiet and felt very safe. Housekeeping staff were not intrusive, maintenance and contractors were friendly. The desk staff were excellent!
Staff is nice, but rooms are falling apart, and beds are extremely uncomfortable. Terrible night sleep :( NOTE - must bring any cook wear. Should be obvious, but I didn't think about it and gave up free breakfast for no breakfast. Was told they are remodeling, but we stayed here in May, and they said the same thing about the rooms conditions.
Your hotel located in McKinney Texas just discriminated against a disabled American Veteran, with a service dog! The lady "Cece" stated documentation for the "dog" is required, and further stated she was "trained" that the veteran had to pay a pet fee to stay at this hotel. She was respectfully educated on the federal laws for a service animal for a disabled veteran, was implored to go to ada.gov to educate herself properly so as not to cause herself legal problems to which she replied "my manaher can deal with the legal stuff", and still preceded to insist that it was not her problem that her manager at the hotel trained her that way and that documentation would be needed in order for the veteran to stay at their hotel.
I have called corporate and reported this. Please educate your employees before the hotel posisbly gets sued for discrimination. I called "Cece" back and asked to speak with her manager after reporting this to corporate and she claimed her manager that trained her had left for the day. She further tried to deny everything she said on the previous 10 min call. Corporate provided us a case number and direct phone # for the investigation, and corporate also stated they do NOT tolerate this kind of treatement at their hotels.
Despicable.
We couldn't check out at 8am because there was a gate down at the front desk. Called the 500 number on the wall and they said to just leave the key in front of the gate. When we got there, they claimed our $73 charge did not go through and proceeded to charge us another $120+ for a stinky room that smelled like old french fries. The beds were listed as queen size, that was a lie. They were full size. The room was not cleaned. Still trash in the room. The front desk lady proceeded to complain about her co worker to us when we tried to check in. Very unprofessional. No soap in the bathrooms. No breakfast. No front lobby, it's a hallway attached to a single door with a sign that says it's locked 24hrs. Could not recommend going somewhere, anywhere else more than I am now, not even one night or "extended" unless you want nasty rooms and rude staff. Not worth the price of $120. A rip off.
Weird people stay here. But I didn’t expect any different. Just feels unsafe when an older man asking a young female if I stay here. Anyways, main issue here is that they don’t give you any pans and utensils and the worst was that even though we had a written contract, they threaten price increase if you don’t pay all up front, which is ridiculous! The outsourced phone rep stated ok to pay weekly but the front desk stated rates would go up if not paid up front! How do you break a contract? Ignorant people run the show apparently and know nothing about contract law. Front desk could be a little bit more kinder. If they go to lunch, they need to put a sign up front as well.
Absolute trash of a hotel. I made an 11 day reservation for an extended stay at this hotel for a female employee. We checked her out after no more than 2 days due to the conditions here. The elevator had graffiti on the door, the fire alarm was broken, the window AC rattled loudly and looked bashed in, there was female hair on the sheets and comforter, a smell of marijuana in the hallway, and unsavory creepy men wandering around. After bringing this to the attention of CapitalOne travel, who spoke with hotel management, the hotel would not refund the unused remaining nights. We have now submitted a dispute with the card company and this will be reported to the BBB along with other consumer advocacy groups. Shame on the management of this hotel. A ghetto place in an otherwise nice part of Mckinney!
Absolutely pathetic customer service. I made a reservation online for an employee. This staff allowed my employee to check in, CHARGED MY CARD, and then told the man that he needed to go get cash to pay for the room because the card wasn't in his name and they had no way for me to authorize the charge until after the weekend. IN 2024?! So we easily made other arrangements at a hotel close by. And naturally she is unable to process a refund. She will have to pass this along to someone else who is gone for the weekend and will have to get back with me some time next week.
