Best WLM Reviews
We chose to come here to get out of the main pathway of Hurricane Helena.
What was expected for 4 days turned into 9 days due to being unable to get back home.
1) Every step of the way all the staff were very kind and patient. I'm a mom of 3 boys, and each time my boys went downstairs and ask the front desk something, they were met with kindness and patience.
2) If you have a pet, there are designated rooms, but please keep in mind that these rooms will not be 100%. However, considering these are extended stay rooms for many, so for the price, they are good.
3) This location has homeless that sleep in the back and contractors that take full advantage of the wooded area in the back. However, I still did not feel unsafe as the staff and manager was always keeping watchful eyes.
4) I had the joy of listening to the manager, not critique and judge one of his struggling visitors, but kindly try and mentor him. Showing love and compassion where many wouldn't have it to give.
I will advise that if you have multiple children that you bring extra towels. You are allowed a limited amount and exchange them when you need clean towels and such.
Overall, my experience and stay was great and I'm incredibly grateful.
We will be back.
I originally stayed for the price ($49/night for a week). The rooms are 200 square feet (4 floors) but the space is utilized great. Tub size is vital in a motel and this one was roomy and deep. Plenty of hot water and pressure. It had a big refrigerator, a two burner stove, a microwave, and plenty of kitchen storage space if you include the bottom and the drawers. Kitchen is unfurnished except for one little cutting board, which came in handy. The bed was actually great, comfy, a little soft on top yet firm and supportive. Good sized bed for the smallest and cheapest room. No couch but preferred to not have one. I needed the space for setting up a work table. Direct TV, good selection of movies.
Cons: Whatever is being used on the floor, it has built up a sticky layer and whatever cleaner it was, it made the room air not tolerable. They use it in the halls too. Fortunately I have a wet & dry Swiffer. I took that out and made haste to the floor, mopping it about three times (200 square feet doesn't take long). I got up a ton of dirt. By the time I was done, that room was the cleanest and best smelling in the hotel. Maybe I should work there. I suggest stop using that cleaner and take a basic cleaner and go over the floors a few times to get that layer up then use vinegar and water or some easy going solution. I couldn't open the window but a crack because of the lock which I say remove it. I would have liked to have the window open. Other than the floor, having the key turn off exactly at 11am with no notice or grace period, that's not good customer service.
Overall I give the place a 5 star rating because, it was very clean, even the laundry room and hallways. I loved the laundry because it had plenty of new-looking, working washers and dryers and you could use your own card ($2.50 per load). I've had such a pain using laundry at Sonesta and some others. Laundry is vital. That has to work.
Mr. Jackson is an excellent host and his staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and well trained. There is a certain charm to that place and a feeling of safety and being welcomed. No nonsense living and a great place to think. Big windows and upscale blinds, new paint, feels like being in my house. (oh, also, great vending machines and I never saw a single bug). I would return to this hotel and recommend it to everyone.
I have stayed several times I am now waiting for my apartment to be completed while doing so I will be here. The staff is awesome and helpful at all times. Mr. Jackson is always there when you need him. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. You have everything you need to stay awhile.
Wow! Can't say enough good things about this place for a $70/night hotel. First and foremost: the rooms are CLEAN and free of critters and smells. This place is cleaner than my military barracks in basic training, and if you've been there, you know that means clean! Second, all guests were quiet and kept to themselves allowing for good rest. Third, the front desk staff (7/8/24 9pm) was fast, friendly, and professional. While the rooms are simple, it was exactly what I was looking for on a work trip. This experience was MUCH better than you would expect from a $70/hotel. Absolutely recommend, and will stay here again if I have the opportunity.
My daughter and I stayed here. Having plumbing work done on the house. It was close to everything I needed to get to. The room was clean. I like the fact there was no smoking in the rooms. Since we do not smoke. Everyone was courteous and nice. Even when I had to extend my stay. Because the work on my house took a little longer.
Would stay here again if need too.
The GM Yuko and his staff are always very friendly and courteous. The rooms are clean and taken care of and the guests that stay here are respectful and quiet, Never had any issues while here! I will be staying here again and I recommend you do the same!
For everyone doging on this place is living to high on the hog! For $50 you can’t bet it. We’re staying one night before we board the boat. The reason why it’s much cheaper is they put cheaper items in room to get prices down like beds and furniture, everything is very clean and smells fine. No it’s not a 4star place but, for $50 you absolutely can’t bet it.
