Best WLM Reviews
Although they don’t allow early check ins they were kind enough to accommodate me when I came from the airport. They also were very helpful with providing minor needs. The room was clean the bathroom tub however took forever to drain other than that it’s simple for a small trip or somewhere to rest
Here's the short and sweet of it: Any previous comments on cleanliness must be old because my room was spotless, and the lobby and halls seemed to have been renovated very recently. Check-in was a breeze, even as I checked in after the front desk closed. It's close to Midway airport, breakfast places, shopping, and "park and ride" locations along the Orange Line to get downtown. I'm normally not a huge fan of anything related to Chicago (other than the '90s Bulls of course), but this place was a great surprise and a nice place to stay.
The front desk gentlemen were very nice. Nice clean rooms, with a cook top, microwave, sink and a full size refrigerator. BUT! There were no Pots, pans, bowls, silverware, cups. ANYTHING TO USE IN THE KITCHEN!!!!!! I've been to hotels before with kitchens and they had everything you need so I never dreamed of seeing this. This should be posted. It should be mentioned somewhere. SOMETHING
Service was alright but god these walls are paper thin it’s currently 2 am and I can hear the whole convo next door while I’m trying to sleep don’t do it to yourself the restroom isn’t really as clean as you’d expect thankfully this is just a one night stay. If the people next door throw something in the floor you will definitely hear it.
update someone got stabbed or something and was crying and yelling from 3am to 5am till the paramedics came and took him but there was no one at the front desk at all to help anyone sooo
When I arrived at the hotel I noticed members of the staff standing in front of the hotel smoking and also sitting on the ground while they watch me enter the hotel I was left standing at the front desk until they finish their smoke break after checking in the door that leads to my room key scanner did not work which led to why I notice guess leaving rocks in the door to prevent being locked out when entering the room I noticed a big hole in the bathroom door the blinds was broken this is the first hotel I ever been in that did not have a coffee maker, drinking glasses, bar soap, shampoo and conditioner, iron, hangers included in the room to put simply the room was below standard with the bare minimum I don't know if this is how this hotel use the operates but based on first impressions I would never stay at the woodspring again. Hopefully someone can contact me and tell me if this is the standard for the woodspring suites.
For the price I didn’t expect much, especially after reading the reviews. The woman working the front desk was polite (though clearly tired). I could overlook some of the hair found on the floor but there was dried blood (I think?) on the floor in the bathroom, as well as other stains. Thankfully I didn’t see the cockroachs mentioned by other reviews, and the bed didn’t seem to have bed bugs, but they should invest in slightly more capable cleaning services (or more workers possibly are needed if one person is cleaning all the rooms). This just isn’t acceptable even for a cheap room. Location was great though
Positive: The check in was smooth and in a well lit parking lot Negative: The room smelled and felt dirty.
Positive: The location. Negative: The staff is nowhere to be found, to check in i had to wait 20 minutes for the clerk to show up at the desk and to check out the desk was closed with employees having fun on the other side and just told me to slide the keys underneath.
