When I checked in, I was to have a non-smoking room… I ended up in a smoking room. First impression was that the room was outdated, needed a coat of paint, and a bathroom without a hole in the door. The kitchenette was acceptable, although the refrigerator looked extremely old and they do not provide you with any of the basics, including a coffee maker, but you can purchase them from the front desk. The carpeted flooring was somewhat tacky to the bare feet, which I found out when I was awaken at 5:30 AM due to a fire alarm. The entire place looked as though it needed a major overhaul and much to my surprise. They did not even provide coffee to their guests in the morning. The front Suggested I go down the street to Starbucks. The bed was fairly comfortable, which was a plus and most of the staff was quite pleasant. Also, the location is not so bad since there is a major grocery store across the street gas station connected to the parking lot and a bar restaurant connected to the other end of the lot. There is also a nice shopping center across from the hotel as well as the aforementioned Starbucks And other amenities.
Ms. Kelly and her team are wonderful! I called to get an early check in Monday and she did everything to accommodate me and my kids! I have 2 rooms here and they are both very clean and comfortable! I just want to say thank you Ms. Kelly for your great spirit and professionalism, you are WONDERFUL!!!
Every single time we turned on the AC unit a mildew smell came out and stunk up the whole room. The walls near the tv had questionable red specks on it and every other night we would see a roach pop out. The mirror in the bathroom was rusted around the edges and the faucet was very loose. Nobody came to collect the trash so we decided to do it ourselves and leave it outside by the door, we came back from a day trip to find the same trash was placed back inside the room. We only stayed here just over a week and half but we don't plan on coming back to this hotel at all.
The hotel is off the main road so it is VERY quiet. Clean property with pleasant and welcoming staff. Property is a little dated, but clean nonetheless. Manager, Nahye, goes above and beyond to exceed your expectations and he makes sure his staff is doing the same. When I travel to Chesapeake I always enjoy staying here because I know I am going to get good service and a clean room/stay.
Rooms are good on the surface, but then you realize things are broken like the dresser and the fridge doesn't work so no point of buying food to have it spoil on you. Been here for a month now and I've already had two GIANT cockroaches in the room (on the fourth floor) and a spider and a moth. And a ladybug which is the least of my worries with these. I'm scared to walk around the room barefoot. The fire alarms wake you up in the middle of the night. It's happened AT LEAST 8 times since we've been here. Not great if you need to wake up early for work. The only good thing maybe is the laundry room and even some of those machines don't dry (#8). Don't feel safe here at all walking around the hotel. Just shut myself in the room because people are yelling and arguing inside and outside. People trash the place and nobody seems like they want to clean it. Everything smells like cigarette and weed smoke right when you walk in even though it's "no smoking" rooms. Clearly nobody enforcing those rules. New management and maintenance needed.
I was originally booked at another WoodSpring Suites in Chesapeake. They called me while I was on the road driving to the hotel to inform me due to "maintenance issues" they were moving me to this location. Both rooms booked smelled horrible. It smelled like Raid Bug Killer had been set off in each room. The beds were terrible, with thin covers. The refridgerators in both rooms were filthy on the outside. Marks were on many areas of the wall. The mirror in one bathroom had rust around the entire frame. You could see where holes had been punched into the walls and doors. The rooms were unacceptable and not a place a person could stay and feel safe and clean. I returned the keys and informed the office staff we would not be staying and to not charge us, as those rooms should not be offered at all in the condition they were in. I also was given a business card to the manager and sent an email describing the terrible condition of the rooms. I would recommend to NOT book a room here ever.
The staff maintain a very clean and safe environment facility housekeeping, Miss Tracy, as well as the house man do an excellent job for the time I stay there they always keep the floors cleans the lobby always look pretty as well as the outside. They just got their parking lot Redone looks very nice and got some of there rooms renovated as well
The bed was so comfortable... omg I melted when Iayed in it. The room was very clean and had a great smell to it. I informed the manager Ms. Biggs I was gonna write a review on the room. Because of how the staff treated my family and how clean it was. She also was a great person with a smile that lights up a room. My stay overall was a 10.... great job guys...
