Bakersfield CA itself smells like cow poop dust 2-3 times a week.
I have been staying at WoodSpring Suites since October 2023, and for nearly a year, I’ve had no significant issues with the property or the staff—everyone else has been professional and respectful. In fact, I’ve generally enjoyed my time here. However, my recent interaction with Reggie, the manager, has left me completely disappointed and frustrated.
I went to discuss some concerns about changes to my payment arrangement, and Reggie was incredibly rude and unprofessional. He started calling me names like “blood” and showed a complete lack of respect for me as a long-term guest. Instead of addressing my concerns or engaging in any form of civil conversation, he chose to ignore me entirely by the end of our exchange. This is not the way you treat a loyal guest who has been living here for almost a year without causing any problems.
It’s a shame because I’ve had no issues with anyone else at this hotel, and the rest of the staff has always been courteous and helpful. But after this experience with the manager, I am seriously reconsidering my stay here.
I would strongly urge anyone considering staying here to be cautious when dealing with management, particularly Reggie, as his behavior is unacceptable and unprofessional. A hotel is more than just a place to stay—it’s the people who make the experience, and management should be setting the standard, not tearing it down.
The hotel itself looks decent but they DONT provide enough towels and you get one rag… I won’t use my body rag on my face sorry!! If you ask for more rags or towels they want you to bring your current towels… no blow dryer… no ice machines… terrible shower… don’t even provide decent “complimentary body wash / shampoo”. The beds aren’t comfortable pillows are lumpy would suggest the Holiday inn Express on 7th Standard over this hotel.
This hotel is worse than a motel, everything is dirty. The staff is awful. The bed is a rock. They make you sign a no refund policy as I want to leave before my expected departure but can’t. But would love to hear the generic response from the hotel bc no I did not enjoy this hotel. No you’re not sorry because you are clearly aware. Wish I had a phone to call the front desk that’s not even open god forbid there was an emergency. I’m sure the super 8 next door is miles above this garbage
Absolute trash this hotel! The GM did not email a form that was needed in order for my children to check into their room so they cancelled the room! Reggie - the GM should be FIRED! He was arguing with me telling me it was my fault that I didn't call back. SCAM ARTIST at the best. Will not refund me for a cancelled room. I will be taking this to his manager- and will dispute the charge. DON'T STAY HERE!
This place is more like a apartment instead of a motel, the only motel I ever rented that didn’t have a coffee maker, no ice and people were out side very late and talking very loud, doors slamming a lot, we were almost afraid. We had to get batteries for the remote for the tv. Wouldn’t recommend it
Avoid this place I called over unfortunately got the manger who from another review on here who also had a problem with said his name is Reggie. Just a complete lack of compassion or helpfulness. He refused to help find out how far the avaible handicap room was from the door to lobby because I order a lot of door dash and have trouble walking far. He just could seem to careless didn't want to take the time to make sure I be taken care of if I rented. I shocked to learn he was higher up than the nice lady manger I had talked too and the past that was very Helpful and accommodating.
This guy seemed to give 2 c**** whether he gave you any kind of good customer service or not.And i'm like how the heck did you get in that position. Avoid this place while this guy is working he sounds like someone they need to replace.
Hotel front staff was extremely rude, Room was clean, but lacked any bare necessities to cook (ie pans silverware that sort of thing) Walls are paper thin, my next door neighbors had a domestic and the cops were there. Dogs barking all night, no 24/7 front desk, and they refused to change me rooms after internet didn't work and was kept up all night by someone beating their significant other.
