Best WLM Reviews
Love this community restaurant. They do BBQ really well and have excellent sides & drink options. The dine-in ambience is clean, open, and spacious. We love the outdoor area in the summer. Wood's Chapel is also a true neighborhood restaurant - they've always shown consistent support for local elementary & middle schools with dine-outs, sponsorships, and event hosting. Highly recommend a visit.
You can never go wrong with a pulled pork bbq sandwich, was very delicious! The pork beans are also a go to, the fries were a little plain, other than that, everything was perfect. Nice, calm area to enjoy your meal!
The ribs were very tender and fell off the bone easily. Do pair it with their homemade mustard sauce. The cornbread was tasty too!
Let me start off with I'm late on this review! I visited this place about 3 weeks ago! Hubby and I wanted some pull pork sandwiches! And I Google and I saw this place not too far from home. I will say they give you plenty of pulled meat, and it can make 2 sandwiches! So, we tried the fried pickles and sticky ribs ???? and to wash it down, we tried High Noon Blackberry and Pineapple ????. We chose outside seating cause it was a nice evening ????. My issues are that the cashier didn't inform us where certain things were. And yes, she did ask, "Have we been here before? And I said, we are first-timers! However, the food was great as well as the service.
The ribs were juicy and spicy. The mango lemonade was sweet with fresh mint and a slice of lemon. There is communal seating and outside is a whole shared vibe with other restaurants.
We ventured out of our Hotel to find an authentic Atlantian BBQ place and Wood's Chapel did not dissapoint. Its a cafeteria style restaurant which was cool. We all picked different entrées and sides off the menu. You order your food, drinks and pay at the counter. Someone brings the food to your table and then the rest is up to you. It was absolutely incredible. The smoked wings were some of the best I've ever had in my life, if not the best. The beans with pork tips were so good I could've eaten just those but the fries that were dusted with a dry rub really brought it all home. My buddies equally enjoyed their selections. So much so that even though we were all full we had to talk ourselves out of getting more food to go.
I enjoy this spot for lunch or a late lunch. Food is very flavorful. But definitely don't go after 5 they will start serving you the old leftover food they made earlier in the day. The food will be hard and parts of it cold like the took it the the frig and warmed it up.
Hop skip and a jump from the zoo, which is why we stopped by. The service was quick, and the food was pretty good. I do have my faves when it comes to bbq, and I always I'm an oddity because I don't eat the sauce. The meat was quality, but the flavor was different. I couldn't put my finger on it. And the tots were crisped to perfection. My husband had the fries and potato salad, and he was digging the buttermilk and dill. Fun vibe to the place with a full bar and some communal tables. I'm always fascinated with old brick and seeing the layers that have been put on top. Street parking, so watch those one-ways. They seem to be a bit stingy with those signs in the Summerhill area.
