The food is absolutely delicious, I had the combo 1 meat. I ordered baby ribs with pit beans and cole-slaw. The flavors were amazing !!! Highly recommended!!
This place got all our top vote as we sampled BBQ for a party. Tender, tasty meats and sides. Even the potato salad was beyond what you’d expect; sweet yummy beans; soft , lovely cornbread and a very good key lime pie. Helpful staff. Simple order your food, they bring it to you and then you box up leftovers in a variety of containers, even for BBQ sauces.
We experienced a unique dining experience at this restaurant, with delicious food that our sons couldn't finish and neither could we. The ladies working that day were attentive and courteous, enhancing our enjoyment of the meal.
Ok BBQ. I loved the Mac N Cheese.
The brisket was decent as was the sausage.
I didn’t care for the ribs very much but I enjoyed most of the house made BBQ sauces. It’s not a bad BBQ spot but if there’s a Famous Dave’s nearby, I’d recommend going there.
Reddit brought me to Woodpile Bbq and I’m glad I came. I got the Pitt master platter that comes with two sides and pulled chicken, pulled pork, ribs and brisket. The bbq is delicious and the bbq sauces are great too. There is a variety of sauces to pick from at the table. Fast service and great bbq.
Found myself in Clawson today at lunch time. Found Woodpile with Google.
I ordered the weekday lunch special for $12.95 - one meat, one side and a pop - and got a second side becauseI couldnt decide. Still under $20 with tip.
The lady at the counter was very pleasant and possessed an honest sense of humor and wore a smile the whole time.
One bite of the brisket, before sauce and without the bun, and I knew I'd be back here. Perfection in three thick slices carefully laid on the bun. Moist, tender, almost falling apart.
Then I tried the mac & cheese. Another hit. I wish I could make it half as good. Noodles are perfectly cooked, the sauce is almost decadent in its flavor and delightfully creamy.
The coleslaw. Among the best I've ever had. It has actual flavor. Not just some cabbage & dressing, there is thought behind this side. Multiple vegetables with just a hint of cayenne (?) & maybe horseradish. Not hot, just seriously tasty.
Even the corn bread, wrapped in foil, was moist, sweet, delicious.
The tables built around barrels are cool, as are the "live edge" high tops. There is outdoor seating as well for the non-winter months.
They have carry-out as well.
Like I said before, I'll be back. Having recently moved from Tampa area, I have to try the Barbe-Cuban sandwich to see how it stacks up.
Hands down the best BBQ I've had since I moved to Michigan. The brisket was the star. I judge every BBQ place by their brisket and this did not disappoint. The ribs, burnt ends, candied bacon and pit beans were delicious. I'm so glad I don't live close to this place because I would be broke, but very satisfied.
I ordered for pickup, but the inside is very cute. Customer service was nice. But the food is always good here. Best sweet potato mash I've eaten. Love their ribs and pulled chicken and pork. My go to for BBQ when I need a fix.
