In from out of town. What a fun place with a menu that changes to keep you coming back. Good beer selection and food . Friendly staff and what I liked they all work together . we had several different wings from dry rub, hoisin , buffalo and bbq , the dragon dance power bowl salad was superb. just a great time
Visiting from the UK and brought here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. I loved this place! Dark wood interior, cool retro artwork and out-front seating. We were going to sit outside but thankfully found a corner seat indoors.
Great selection of ales & beers on tap; I think I had the export lager. The chicken wings were huge and tasty, although I’m guessing they had been pumped-up on steroids. (This appears to still be acceptable in the USA.) The garlic skinny fries were covered with freshly crushed garlic. (I personally loved them, but they’re a little antisocial.)
The place was suddenly very busy with a good atmosphere. The staff were very busy yet attentive. Most definitely my favourite pub/bar in North Carolina!
A while back I read some good things about the Wooden Nickel Pub and thought next time I'm in Hillsborough I need to check it out. I finally got to check it out and what a great place!
We had to try the onion rings and they were fantastic! And then we ordered fish and chips, and some boneless wings. The fish and chips were way above average and I really liked the wings with the Carolina dry rub.
All that great food, with excellent service, and a very enjoyable pub atmosphere. I'll have to find a reason to visit Hillsborough again soon...
Great atmosphere with outdoor seating, the interior has a wonderful old time feel to it. The servers all check on you, but on busy days you may have to flag them down and they will attend your needs right away. The food is great too. They rotate different breweries around the country and we had some brews from Hawaii and another location, they were very good. Definitely stop by if you’re in town. Ohio State Buckeyes are definitely welcome.

Great pub food with lots of excellent daily specials as well as a good set menu. Burgers and wings are very good.They have a large rotating beer menu monthly of great beers. Indoor seating inside is basic and includes the bar. There is outdoor seating available right on the town's main drag. It is always loud and lively at the Nickel.
Loved this place I happened upon and would greatly recommend! The wings are some of the best I've ever had and the coconut keylime cheesecake is phenomenal!
Very nice vibe in a neat town. I met friends there and it was all of our first time. It was busy for 3pm but nothing seemed stressful. I had the mushrooms Swiss burger, one friend had one of the artisan salads and the other had the classic burger. All of us were happy with our orders. A++
I will definitely go again. ????
