I attended an event (3 day needlework retreat) at this hotel. Event was great; hotel was lacking in many ways and I wouldn't stay here again. |An hour after we checked into our room, we heard noises at the door - front desk had assigned our occupied room to newly arrived guests. |Elevators had issues, including getting stuck between floors with people aboard. Too few for this size hotel especially with some out of order. |Room clean upon arrival and cleaned next day, but then not cleaned. Had to request towels at 10pm and was initially told to come get them. Soap and tissues not restocked. |While restaurant and catered food was good, service was lacking. At lunch we waited over 30 mins for soup and grilled cheese, which was cold by the time we got it. |On checking out at 6:25am, I was told it was against policy to print invoice before 6:30 and I'd have to wait until then. What?!?!
Very nice for a short stay. Spacious rooms, helpful front desk. Amazing spa service thanks Steven. I didn't give five stars for the reasons below.
I didn't drive, which wasn't a big deal, just very few snack options. Attended a conference found lunch to be better than breakfast. Our one dinner night at the hotel included a delicious crab cake with a child's serving of rice.
This is a Great hotel. It's up a hill away from the highway with an incredible view. The food is absolutely amazing, better than some long island restaurants i been too. The room is update and super clean. Service is great and the bar makes incredible drinks. The prices are great . Wish it was closer to home would come here alot
Our most recent stay at Woodcliff in late August was outstanding. We have been celebrating birthdays, anniversaries, New Year's or just a little getaway at your resort for over 15 years, and each time gets better and better. This time we were celebrating a birthday and both Kitty and Justin made sure our stay was memorable. We were booked into one of the renovated suites, room 530 and it was spectacular. Very chic with a neutral decor and first class amenities. The room also boasted a fireplace which will provide a cozy ambiance for a future stay in the cooler weather. The complimentary "treats" were such a sweet surprise! Kitty and Justin always provide first class service at check in and throughout our stay. They always take the time to check to ensure that everything is going well and to offer a friendly hello and smile. We also want to give a shout out to the lounge and restaurant staff. They always provide friendly and professional service. The pool is such a welcome asset in the summer with many comfortable loungers available. It also provides a beautiful view of the grounds with the gazebo and surrounding foliage and of course the cliffside. The location is amazing with the Finger Lakes, Casino, wine tasting and shopping all within 10-20 minutes. Thank you again for your amazing service and making every stay like a special occasion!!!

Hats off to the Woodcliff Hotel/Wedding venue! My son's wedding was held here this past Sat 10/12/24 The venue was absolutely Beautiful, the Staff was extremely accommodating ,from the front desk, the bartenders, the cleaning staff , the waitress's waiters, golf cart attendants and Justin especially at the front desk! Everything for the venue was Beautiful! If I had any suggestions it would be if possible to have few more golf carts going if able for venue/ceremony time. and if the Bar could have stayed opened longer in Hotel it would have made Bank!!! LOl But then this crew we had are big partier's and if that is hotel policy I understand. Justin was able thou to accommodate the after hr. group for all of us thou . if we drove you nuts, I apologize Justin!! with ending for myself personally, My son's wedding that was held at Woodcliff will always remain one of the Best times of my Life!! Thank-you Woodcliff !!!
I was so excited to score a fireplace suite on Christmas Eve and Christmas night and surprise additional family members with the gift of Christmas dinner, but when I tried to reserve a table I was told the restaurant is CLOSED on Christmas Day. How is this possible in a full service hotel? I asked what the guests were supposed to do and was told “there are probably some restaurants open in the area”. Are you kidding me? I immediately canceled my stay and scrambled to find other reservations. The Woodcliff was very unsympathetic and never answered my messages as to why this was not posted on the website. I truly feel for all the guests waking up on Christmas morning to a closed restaurant. I just hope that someone sees this review so they can make arrangements for meals.
Some parts of the rooms require some updating. Bed was very comfortable. The biggest fault as was discussed with many other customers is the sound. It was unbearable. When I talked to the front desk guy, his response was, yeah, they can be loud. There was no staff interaction with loud guests to quite down, many of whom we teens and part of Hocky teams. It was loud until midnight on both Friday and Saturday. Then at 6am the elevators started ringing endlessly. I have stayed in many hotels all over the world. This was the loudest and so annoying. Guessing sound proofing should be on top of the upgrade list.
Amazing view.
Edit: After reading past reviews, the maintenance of this hotel has been an issue for sone time. The "will discuss with our team" excuse getting old. Spent this past weekend there for a wedding. Property is beautiful, staff was friendly. Room service was so fast and food was good. Could not get in to our rooms til 4:45pm. Exhausting after a long drive. Only 1 working elevator for a packed hotel. Sunday morning waited 30 min and eventually took stairs with other guests helping with our luggage. Very disappointing for the price.
