This is a lovely place to enjoy delicious Italian food. While their specialty is pasta, they also offer an excellent selection of salads. However, there are limited options for vegans and no gluten-free alternatives. The decor is nice, and the balcony provides a pleasant view. On the downside, it’s very noisy, and the music volume can make conversations challenging.
We attended a birthday party with a group of 14. The staff were very nice, and the food was delicious. I don’t remember the name of the girl who served us on the second floor, but she was very sweet and proactive. At the end, we asked her to bring something that wasn’t on the menu. We wanted to try pasta with all the spices available in the kitchen. She went to the kitchen and talked to the chef about it. Fifteen minutes later, she came back with a plate of delicious pasta, perfectly spicy enough to satisfy our craving.
The food here is extremely delicious!
For our appetizer we had the burrata which was very tasty along with their homemade bread.
For entrees we ordered the grammas pizza, mushroom pizza and pasta. All were very good!
For dessert we tried a couple of options. The cookies were delicious, fresh and warm! They asked if I wanted milk and they were able to bring me out chocolate milk.

Great food and service! We sat by the Bar and was served by Nikki the mixologist. The cocktails were delicious, made with care and a lot of passion! Her customer service was top notch and her libations are always on point! She was also a great conversationalist as she explained the workings of the commercial grade juicer they had at the bar which I was quite excited about. The food was delicious! Woodstack Kitchen in Metuchen has never disappointed us! Thanks again for great customer service!
Vibrant atmosphere and a lively bar. The place was packed on a Fri evening. Got seats at the bar, and the food and drinks were on point. Even the welcome bread seemed delicious! Great place to catch up after work or with family and friends.
Overall I felt this restaurant landed at a 4. There were some really good parts as well as areas that needed improvement, which drove the rating down for me.
The highs: Our server was great. Really on top of taking our food and drink order. Checking in on our table and giving us updates on our orders. The appetizers were great as were some of the cocktails we had. Atmosphere/decor was nice. Liked the overall vibe.
What drove the score down: while some of the entrees had at the table were good (large portions, even the smaller size pasta dish), my steak was disappointing. I asked for medium rare and it was definitely not that. Luckily it wasn’t completely over cooked so I ate it. Dessert time - while everyone got either a dessert and/or coffee, I decided to get the chocolate espresso cocktail. When ordering for dessert you would hope it all comes out at the same time or relatively close in time. My drink took so long that the rest of the table finished their coffees and dessert for a while before my drink showed up. So I felt rushed to have to finish at that point as we were already done by that point. Also definitely not the best mix. I’ve just had such excellent made espresso cocktails that this felt just watery and extremely strong it loses the ability to be enjoyed.
Food was very good! The tagliatelle pasta was great. The octopus was so tender. The olive app was good. The bread was awesome, instead of butter I asked for some olive oil and it was legit, definitely wasn’t your typical store bought olive oil, it had tons of flavor. For 2 people, 5 espresso martinis, 2 apps, a salad and a main dish of pasta it was around $230. I’m sure the drinks prob had most to do with that but I was def surprised when I saw the bill. Food was great and I would go back, but i’m not rushing to.
Very nice decor and vibe. We had a Peppa pig & Margarita pizza ????. Both very good. We also had maple chili chicken wings and they were ok. There rice ball were below average and there pasta Norma was excellent.
