Great staff and great food no doubt about it! The Tri tip was out of this planet, so was the classic burger! Which I could probably called it a super Classic Classy burger, the type you see in your dreams. Fries and bread Are great too nothing to complain about the food. It couldn’t be more of a perfect way to start the football season. They pulled off an amazing coma back. It’s started shaking we came in at a shift change right before the rush hour walked in to their doors. So we were there without a server for longer than most people are ok with, but we were approached by what seemed like manager and took care of us until the new server was set. I have finally been to a restaurant where they make it better not just give up after a shaky start… Great service! Thanks
Everything I have tried on the menu has been absolutely delicious. Service is always wonderful, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. My favorite item on the menu is the fire roasted half chicken, so much flavor and always cooked to perfection! Everyone in my family also loves coming here and have always loved their plates, even my 4 year old!
Very warm and welcoming establishment. We had a larger party of 10 and we were seated immediately. They provide bread while we decided what to order. They had great fresh guacamole, chips and salsa. Everyone was very pleased with their dishes. I ordered steak and fries that I fell in love with. Steak had great flavor and was really lean. I hate fat on my steaks but I did not find not one piece of fat. We had a birthday also and they provided ice cream so we were able to sing. Will Come back to this place.
Wife and I continue our recent pattern of medical appointment and eating well. I must profess that I don't usually go to chain restaurants. However, my experience at Wood Ranch was so good that I must re-examine why I automatically equate chain establishments with not as good a dining experience. It was definitely a case of bias confronted and rejected.
Food: we shared a ribeye steak, a Natalie's salad. I ordered an Arnold Palmer and wife had hot water with lemon to drink. First the ribeye is a large cut (14 oz?) perfectly cooked Angus beef to medium. It was tender, juicy, the delicious wood smoke wafting off of it. In fact, it had that elusive mouth feel when I bit into it that I wondered if it's gone through some dry aging process. Natalie salad we ordered had that tangy, citrusy dressing with fresh greens and avocado. It sure helped set our palate to appreciate the full goodness of our ribeye. For the Arnold, it's quite good. But I would ask for easy ice and a 70/30 blend on lemonade to tea ratio next time. It was a hot day and the quickly melting ice thwarted the drink's taste quite rapidly. But it's not on the restaurant or our server to account for 100+ degree day. Any restaurants that could've done so on the fly deserves its Michelin star and, as much as we liked Wood Ranch, it was not quite a Micheline caliber place.
Service: It was above par for restaurants of this caliber. We were seated quickly. Our order was entered quickly. Since we told our server that we were starving, she probably helped get us our food out more quickly. Kudos!
Ambience: The decor was kind of American Huntsmen Woodsy. It was not as in your face, fake-kitschy-fun as you'd find on the Strip in Vegas. Well, they were going for a theme and definitely hit the mark. Not sure if I fully bought into this look but, heh, food was great, service good and the ambience was unobtrusive enough.
In final analysis, I'd unequivocally recommend Wood Ranch in Chino Hills to anyone who hankers a hunk of meat. Its food is unexpectedly excellent, menu priced reasonably. I would definitely come back and try their other menu items.
First time here, late afternoon on a Saturday and we were sat down within 15 minutes. Our server David was awesome! we didn’t have to ask him once for a refill, he was automatic. My daughter has a severe Peanut Allergy and he knew what the restaurant procedure was for customers with allergies. Food was on point worth every penny we spent. Atmosphere was upbeat and customer service was fantastic. Definitely will be coming back to try other menu items.
Had my Mother's 80th birthday catered by Wood Ranch and everything was wonderful. The cater staff was very nice, pleasant and helpful. The food was excellent everyone loved it. Will definitely return as a customer especially for catering parties. Thanks again
I'm a little surprised at the lack or concern I received from management during my last visit on 11/03/2024. My children and I had lunch at this location after church. Towards the end of the meal, my 8 year old threw up. First he threw up in his lap at the table. Then he threw up twice in the restroom while trying to get to the toilet.
He wasn't sick so I asked him if his stomach hurt. After a short conversation he told me that he started feeling bad while eating his ribs.
When we exited the restroom, I immediately observed a waiter and hostess outside the restroom. I attempted to tell the hostess that my son had gotten sick, but she was already aware and said they had someone coming to clean it up.
We returned to our table and waited. Shortly after, the waitress dropped off the bill and walked away. A little while after that, a female manager walked up to take the payment. She asked if we wanted to order dessert or anything else. I started off by apologizing for my son throwing up in the restroom and told her that I didn't need anything as I was trying to figure out what made my son sick.
The manager said okay and asked if I wanted the leftovers (what was left of my son's ribs) to go. I said yes and told her I would finish them to see if they make me sick. The manager said okay and left with the food. She returned with the ribs in a box.
I'm somewhat shocked at the lack of concern that my child got sick in this restaurant. Yes, I know that sickness could be caused by plenty of things. However, he wasn't sick at any point in time prior to us going to Wood Ranch. After the treatment, though, we won't be returning any time soon.
It was our first time visiting Wood Ranch and we are so happy we did. Our server Jesse was so attentive, kind and friendly. He took his time to explain the different cuts and what we couldn’t miss out on. We sat in the patio and it was so peaceful and quiet with the fire place. We truly enjoyed our meals and cocktails. Personal favorite was the Asian salad. We will definitely be back.
