One the best Chinese joints in Portland. Huge portions of high quality food. I like spicy and ordered Szechuan chicken. I asked for it to be very spicy. It came out just right. Orange chicken was fab. My wife had the broccoli beef. It was top quality but too mild for my taste. The pork lo mein was delicious. Super expensive. 90 bucks for 4 people had only the dinner menu option because it was Xmas eve I'm guessing. They separated all the sauces from the entrees like we asked so nothing got soggy on our drive home. The food is and always has been by far the best Chinese food in town it's not greasy it's not gross the batter is super fluffy and has a bit of crunch to it easily can be cooked in the air fryer if you'd like it a little bit more crunchy or just ask them to cook it more for you they will. The friars are clean all their food therefore taste clean. Under the battery of the chicken if you see it which is unlikely cuz you'll be stuck in your face with it you'll see that every piece is a good piece of all white chicken no fat no gross gristle no tough parts. It's really good quality. I can't overstate how good it is and this is coming from someone who really doesn't like Chinese food. I only ever like it from here. We go to the one on Woodstock. There's also one in Milwaukie . I find the food delicious at both the phone call service at Milwaukie might be a little bit better,maybe that's just like nitpicking though. And yes it was expensive but let me tell you the bag of food we got?! It had to have weighed like 50 lbs! I had three boys eating with me and a surprise guest and we still have leftovers for days and not because we didn't need it because we stuffed ourselves it was just so much food that was given to us. Always recommend this place whenever anyone asked me a good Chinese restaurant and will continue to do so.
Decent Chinese American with good portions. I enjoyed the General Tso and shrimp was fried well. Nothing tastes overly greasy and it was a good price for what we received. Definitely a nice spot for some comfort Chinese American food!
This spot is always reliable and service is always wonderful. Food is good, but I go because it's never bad! Really love the crab puffs, sweet and sour pork and rice is consistently cooked perfectly.
THE BEST VEGETABLE TOFU DISH EVER!!!! I am such a picky eater and have been a vegetarian for years and they make the best tofu dishes that I am a regular always!! Please support this local great quality restaurant!!
We use to get lunch here once a month and we even brought friends here. I ordered take out last night and the fried rice had a oily taste and the chicken lo mein wasn't the same dish. Are they using angel hair pasta, needless to say I don't think I will ever go back. Sorry folks.
Great customer service at front desk. He was straight forward with me and I appreciate that. First time customer. I’ll update on the food another time. So far the to go order is heavy!
Lunch specials, great price, lots of food. The rice and chow mein was very dry, food very salty. I will probably try other restaurants in area first before I go back
