Best WLM Reviews
The Wonderland is well, simply wonderful! I love the use of recycled materials from the previous building on this site. We stayed in the Raven's Nest overnight before a trip into Yellowstone. The room was cozy and clean with a comfortable bed and bathroom. The food in the cafe is very good and the service is friendly. The cafe can get very busy. Reservations for dinner are advised. The Wonderland is in the "busy" section of Gardiner so you'll experience some noise and lights but things usually calm down around 9pm. Highly recommend!!
Wonderland is a great place to eat. We were there while on our Honeymoon and we were seated promptly, a server was over quickly to take our order and she was sweet and personable.
The burgers were out of this world (The Caldera and the Montana) with their perfect sauces and great construction. Plus, the price for a half pound homemade burger was totally worth it. Felt like something straight off the grill!
Thank you!
I am not one who leaves reviews but I had to to take a moment and leave one for this place.
Stopped here to eat on our last night of vacation. This was by far the best food we have had the whole trip and we have been through 3 states in the last 2 weeks. Price was good and the taste was amazing. Absolutely hit the spot and made a perfect end to our trip. Cornbread and burgers were delicious, tater tot nachos were perfection. Absolutely will come back next time we are even close to town.
Cute & cozy establishment, warm & inviting. The food was amazing, we ordered the Ribeye and Trout and the flavors were so delicious! The waitress Lana was super helpful and friendly.
So glad we found this little gem. Will come back and try the amazing coffee menu.
It doesn't get much better than this. They always deliver exceptional food and experience for a great price. For being in a bit of a food desert, this place shines beyond everyone else. It is hands down the best spot in town. My favorite are their chili with jalapeno cornbread, but you can't really go wrong with anything on the menu.
We went here because of the high reviews and were not disappointed. Very busy restaurant. We had to sit at bar, as we didn't want the 30 minute wait for a table, but it was worth it. We both got Bison Hamburgers and they were excellent. The wife had a gluten free bun and it was excellent. Fantastic service, even though they were extremely busy and packed. Added bonus was my wife got a gluten free scone the next day and it was fresh and tasty.
If you're visiting Gardiner, MT—right at the doorstep of Yellowstone National Park—you cannot miss Wonderland Cafe and Lodge. This charming restaurant is a must-visit, offering an incredible dining experience in an equally incredible location.
Parking:
There's free street parking available, making it easy to access even during busy tourist seasons.
Ambiance:
Wonderland Cafe boasts a spacious interior with plenty of seating, including spots at the bar. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, featuring artwork and photos of bison and Yellowstone landscapes, giving the space a local and rustic charm that perfectly complements its surroundings.
Food:
The food is fantastic and a standout for the area. I started with two appetizers:
1. Totchos – These were, without a doubt, the best tater tots I've ever had. Crispy, flavorful, and just the right amount of indulgence.
2. Jalapeno Cornbread – A truly unique dish. The sweetness of the cornbread perfectly balanced with the spicy kick of jalapeno. I've never had anything like it!
For the main course, I tried their special veggie burger, which was an absolute show-stopper. It’s a perfect choice for vegetarians, though the menu does have somewhat limited veggie options overall (the salad is another option). Despite that, the quality of the dishes more than makes up for it.
Overall:
Wonderland Cafe and Lodge is an amazing spot nestled in a quaint, picturesque town surrounded by mountains. Whether you’re stopping by before or after your Yellowstone adventure, the food and atmosphere here will not disappoint. Highly recommend!
Very kind and patient staff in the restaurant. Lane, Stacey, and Jason did their best to squeeze our group in last minute and were very accurate with their time estimates. Everyone was licking their plates by the end. Delicious.
When searching online, it looked like one of only places to have main dishes that weren’t red meat-centric (like fish (that’s not battered/fried)). Highly recommend for a dine in experience however they are very popular. So communicate and/or arrive early! Luckily there’s plenty of walkable gift shops nearby if there is a wait.
