This clinic is just ok. I’ve had a terrible ultrasound tech, one that was fine, and one that was amazing. The midwife team so far has been fine, nothing has been spectacular about their care. Seems like they’re so busy they just funnel patients through without caring too much about the individual. Also, they have a policy of pre-billing for delivery that’s due at 36 weeks and they put it on your account without any explanation or breakdown. They don’t bill insurance first or check your deductible…they just bill you. I work for an insurance broker and he’s never heard of anyone doing this before. It’s very strange and off-putting. If I weren’t already more than halfway through my pregnancy, I’d probably change to a different clinic. I’ll definitely look at other options for my next pregnancy.
I see a LOT of negative comments about ultra sound techs.
I had a tech who was EXTREMELY rude. I wish I caught her name.. Looking through past visits, I still can't find it. She blamed me for not drinking enough water and was pushing down SO hard during the ultrasound I was in so much pain. I was concerned she hurt the baby, which wasn't the case thankfully. But she kept making rude remarks. "When was the first date of your last period?" I told her and she kept saying "are you sure?" in a snarky attitude. Yes, I track my periods. I'm positive. ???? Then she asked me to go out into the hallway mid-ultrasound and "do jumping jacks or something" to get the baby to change positions. I told her I'm not doing that and she said "well do it in here then" and left. After all of this, she never gave me pictures of my ultrasound and told me I ruined my ultrasound.
Based on her, I would give them a 1 star. BUT. There's another ultrasound tech who I ADORE. Again, wish I knew her name ???? She's so sweet and thorough, and she likes calling babies "Lil turkies," which is both weird and funny. I told her about the above experience and she told me i should have advocated for myself. She said a lot of her comments weren't even true, and she's never asked anyone to do jumping jacks to get better photos. She even said you don't need a full bladder technically! So what the heck. She sent me home with a BOOKLET of photos that she was careful to take with precision. She deserves 10 stars honestly. The other tech needs a new job where she doesn't interact with people.
I am quite satisfied with the services that WHA has provided so far. The staff working at front desk is good and knowledgeable. My OB and midwife are also very kind and informative, and this is super helpful to a first time mom!
I'm thankful that my last appointment was today. After this, I am never returning again. A few weeks ago, I had my 20 week ultrasound. My husband and toddler were there too because we don't have the privilege of family living nearby to watch our son. After making a couple normal toddler sounds, the ultrasound tech said he needed to go out into the waiting room. So my husband had to miss the entire ultrasound of his first daughter. When I got to the car, I thought at the very least I could show my husband the ultrasound pictures since he missed the experience. But when I opened the envelope, there was only one picture of the elbow, and one of the head! All the other pictures were excluded. I couldn't believe it. By that point the clinic was closed so I couldn't even walk back in to inquire about it. The next day when I called about the ultrasound pics, they said that they disappeared from the machine and I would have to pay $20 for a drive of the photos to be sent to me. I ordered it, but I feel so scammed and let down by WHA. Not only have I not received an apology for what happened, they couldn't even waive the $20 fee? Unbelievably bad business practices here. And yes, I said business. That's what it is in America. Money and greed. It makes sense why this place has a 2.5 rating. After coming here for 15 years and 2 births here, it's bittersweet to not be returning.
The five stars are solely for Cassandra Hodge. She is so professional and caring, which is big in today's medical care. So many times, the doctors/nurse in today's society seem as if they truly don't care. Too busy or overwhelmed. Cassandra Hodge was outstanding. I felt like I was truly heard, she addressed the issues, and came up with a solution. That's all patient's want, is when they go into an appointment is to be "HEARD." I never felt rushed and was able to voice my concerns. I wasn't brushed off, or made to feel hurried, or ignored in any way. Cassandra Hodge made me feel seen. She didn't give me the "at your age" or put me in a category or box. She actually treated me as a individual human being with concerns. Most comfortable I've felt in a doctor's office in an extremely long time. I so glad I switch providers because I almost went elsewhere. Thank you so much Cassandra Hodge, it those little things that make or break a great provider. Extremely grateful for your time.
Dr. Michelle Monnie is excellent she’s the best OB/GYN and a great surgeon. She’s very kind and patient to woman’s need and she encourage you to do better and be better. I have been seeing Dr. money for the past 3 /4 years and she’s a wonderful doctor and a wonderful caring human being. She’s kind and has empathy.
So far my care has been straight forward and very personable. I really like my doctor— Michelle Monnie. She is informed and communicative. Looking forward to my pregnancy with this clinic.
Doctor monnie is best doctor very patience and never in rushed and also I have seen by Kara Richardson she is a very good doctor too the only problem I have with this clinic is the wait time they make u wait in the lobby very long and I hate it coz just like them we are busy too in our lives we have work and most importantly we have kids that some of us has nobody to watch so please work on that coz maybe because of the waiting in lobby thing people might change their providers which is not good for the clinic and the patient . Otherwise I love front desk and doctors .
