Best WLM Reviews
Always BIG portions, perfect for islanders like ourselves. Taste is usually an 8-9/10. Service is 10/10.
The lady at the front is very friendly and funny. She’s blunt to some people, but it comes out as comical and she’s just trying to get things done fast. Just like how our food came out. It might’ve been an 8-12 min wait, but honestly only felt like a 5 min way bc it was so fast.
My family have been eating here for 8 years. This restaurant offers Chinese, Korean and Japanese dishes. Through the years, we have ordered the chicken Katsu, fried rice, Chow mein (combination of pork, chicken and shrimp), bento box (chicken teriyaki, shrimp tempura, vegetable tempura. Very generous portions are given. All the food have been flavorful and delicious. However, one recent order I placed a few months ago was the chicken katsu. It was over fried and rubbery. We did not enjoy that. This was a first time we experience this.
The only person who works the front does it all!! She is the cashier, order taker, server, answers phone orders and bags your order. She can get extremely busy. Expect a wait if you are ordering to go, however, they get through the orders pretty quickly.
We would return to eat other items, I’m afraid to order the chicken katsu again LOL!
The portions are huge - enough food for an army. See photo, this was just two entrees. Food is hot and delicious. I'll be back!
Wok & Teriyaki House (Aug. 10, 2023)
This is my first visit after my daughter moved to Puyallup, and we were trying to find a value Asian restaurant to dine at. Arrival time was just after noon on a Thursday. The eatery was doing brisk business with takeout but seating is still available. Yes, there is cool air conditioning too!
Daughter ordered the Teriyaki chicken and Katsu lunch combo special ($12.99), and I ended up with Bento B which consisted of Teriyaki chicken, 4 pieces of sushi, 2 pieces of shrimp tempura.and an eggroll ($14.99). Both orders came with a refreshing small salad as well.
The former came out first, and my first impressions was it was large for a lunch special. The bento box came up shortly after, and was impressive as well. Taste-wise - The food tasted fine overall. I found the sushi was done very well. The Teriyaki sauce tasted good, the grilled chicken was a little tough. A general complaint was that some of the fried foods (Katsu especially) were over-fried to become a little tough and dry.
The staff were kind and very efficient, and will even refill ice water to a half empty cup. Location serves Pepsi distributed products.
Overall, this eatery rates 4 out of 5 stars. Despite some of the shortcomings, the meal is a great value, and definitely definitely worth the money. Combined with the lovely staff and the cool air conditioning of the eatery, I shall definitely return to try other things out of their extensive menu.
Happy Eating !!!!
Nothing special to look at. It meets the basics for location. Four walls and a roof but clean. That's aside its five stars across the board. Fast! Call ahead and pick up. Delivery through door dash etc. Or rat inside. It is a crowded small place but its clean and available.
THE FOOD IS Tasty AND PREPARED WELL ...SERVICE IS FAST SND CRAZY GENEROUS .
TRY EM YOULL LOVE IT
Not good, do yourself a favor and dine elsewhere. Chicken katsu were hard and double deep fried, Teriyaki chicken cut too thick so the sauce doesn't mask up the chicken. Egg flower soup lacks flavor. The place is way too cold. The servers were attentive and polite. That's the only good thing I could think of. I'm never going back.
Well I usually love this place and never had any issues. Until tonight then they had a dinner rush
My online order placed at 655pm for 2 normal orders of teriyaki
I wait patiently for over an hour in store. While many orders online and in person well after my arrival gets fulfilled.
Waited in store until 830 when I walked up asking what was wrong for them to tell me my order had been canceled and they could not make my food. If I want my food I need to re order. Really disappointed with the customer service considering how much we enjoy the food.
I’ve been coming here since I was a chef for Emerald Queen Casino around five years ago. This is by far my favorite teriyaki place in Puyallup. Everyone benefits from coming here and eating.
