Best WLM Reviews

I have been blessed to eat at the finest dining establishments in New York City, Long Island, Chicago, L.A., San Francisco, Miami and 50 other major cities. I love my yearly vacation weeks on Hilton Head Island, SC. Wiseguys has been my favorite dining experience. Wiseguys has consistently exceeded my expectations of all the restaurants I have had the pleasure of experiencing. Tonight was truly remarkable, I would go as far to say the most amazing cuisine, service, and ambience. The service provided by Nancy was exceptional and made the evening unforgettable. Wiseguys is the place to have an amazing dining experience when on Hilton Head Island. Thank you Chef and your staff.
We had gone around 730pm, greeted by friendly staff and sat rather quickly. Nancy was our waitress who was super friendly, quick to give us help or suggestions on delicious things to order. I had the baked brie as an appetizer which was creamy, sweet, delicious on all notes. Main course was the pork chop with cowboy butter, try it! Zesty, tangy, little heat, but man... amazing! Would and will eat here again.
Because our goal this vacation was to try restaurants that we have never been to , we decided to put WiseGuys on the list. Wow! So glad we made that decision and wish we had done it sooner. The service was exceptional and the food was some of the best we have ever had on the Island. Gluten free Pizza, Blackened catch (which was swordfish) and Scallops with mushroom risotto were our entrees. WiseGuys is known for its Steaks, but we did not go wrong with our selections. We will definitely be back!
Incredible meal and service! We came here for our last night at Hilton Head - what a treat!
The decor was beautiful, the ambiance somehow felt both high end but comfortably inviting. We were greeted by two hostesses who were super polite and welcoming.
Jose was our server. He was very informative, attentive, and kind. We have food allergies and he connected with the kitchen promptly to ensure our orders did not contain our allergens as ingredients.
We ordered:
The baked brie - delicious! The bread was fantastic and we ate a ton of it...
The shrimp bisque - excellent flavor, my 10 year old son stole half of it!
My husband and I each had a rib eye steak. I see why they are known for their steaks, it was by far the best steak I have had - beautiful sear, tender, perfectly cooked, incredible quality beef, delicious flavor. For sides we had whipped potatoes, creamed spinach, and roasted asparagus. All perfect!
My 10 year old had the shrimp scampi and devoured it despite the many baskets of bread we had beforehand. I tried a bite and wow, it was phenomenal. My 8 year old had the kids pizza which had a perfect crunch to the crust!
For dessert (somehow we made it fit) we shared the bread pudding and creme brulee flight. Surprise - all amazing.
What a lovely meal to close out or stay. I can't recommend it enough!
Another great find at Hilton Head. Our waitress, Brittany, was so nice and professional. The manager, Colin, stopped by to chat with his great British accent to check to see how our food was, and most importantly, the food was great, especially the stuffed mushrooms. We would definitely go back.
I had an outstanding experience at Wise Guys, thanks to Amanda, the bartender! She was incredibly friendly, professional, and efficient, making sure our drinks were perfect and that we were well taken care of the entire night. She had great recommendations and made us feel right at home. It’s rare to find someone who combines skill and genuine hospitality so effortlessly. If you’re ever there, definitely sit at the bar when Amanda is working—you won’t be disappointed!

When I saw WiseGuys’ menu, I was excited to treat my wife and myself to what I hoped would be a memorable meal. The unique offerings, particularly the Porterhouse—a rarity in the area—caught my attention, as did the variety of finishing butters to elevate the steak’s flavor profile. Unfortunately, the experience fell short of my high expectations.
The meal began on a promising note with the French Onion soup. As someone who is particular about this dish, I was thoroughly impressed. The cheese on top was perfectly thick with just the right amount of crust, and the soup itself was a masterclass in flavor—rich, layered, and tasting like the result of careful preparation. It was the kind of dish that sets the bar high for the rest of the meal.
However, that’s where things took a disappointing turn. For my main course, I ordered the $80 Porterhouse, requesting it medium rare with a side of the Parmesan Truffle fries and roasted mushrooms. What arrived was rare to the point of being cool to the touch, with the Cowboy butter sitting on top, completely unmelted… and not about to melt anytime soon. I alerted the waitress, who took it back to the kitchen, but what returned was even worse: a steak that had been overcooked past medium, served on a scorching plate, likely blasted under a Salamander. The butter had now been reduced to a puddle at the bottom of the plate, with no added butter offered for me to put on the steak.
To add insult to injury, the steak itself was devoid of any seasoning. No salt. No pepper. Nothing. It was baffling that a steakhouse could send out a cut of meat this expensive without even the basics of seasoning. Trying not to make a fuss, I gave it a chance but the lack of seasoning made the steak utterly forgettable. The sides were mediocre, at best. Though I might have thought they were better had I not been so disappointed in the steak.
My wife took ill (unrelated to the dining experience). As a result, I decided to just box it up. The following day at home, I seasoned it with some Kinder’s Prime and reheated it. Only then did the steak have the flavor it should have had at the restaurant.
WiseGuys has all the makings of a great dining destination—an enticing menu, a polished ambiance, and a focus on premium ingredients. Yet the execution, especially on such a simple but essential dish as a steak, was severely lacking. I really wanted to love this place, but unfortunately, it missed the mark by a mile.
Do yourself a favor and put this restaurant at the top of your list when you visit Hilton Head! Our large group tried several appetizers, different entrees, and desserts. I had a filet mignon that melted just in my mouth! There was not one thing that was just okay. Everything I tried was amazing!!! We can't wait to visit Hilton Head again next year just to go back to WiseGuys!!! The food was so amazing that I forgot to take pictures of everything we had except the desserts. I'm still dreaming about the desserts!!!!
