The whole menu looks amazing but we had the oyster sampler and gumbo along with raw oysters. You can't go wrong. Monterrey and Bienville are great choices for oysters. Gumbo was good as well! We will be coming back. Great place to watch a football game or celebrate a birthday!
Great experience! We had a large group of 20 people and were beyond impressed with the service and quality of food. Ava knocked it out of the park! She was so attentive to our large party and nothing was forgotten! Thank you Ava for the great service! The food arrived very quickly and all of our orders were correct. I would definitely recommend eating at Wintzells!
This place has been for a long time they have tons of regulars oysters in seasons all year round and they are excellent alongside with their fried pickles and great selection of local beers I left happy and will be back.
I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. The portion size was epic. And the flavor of each item was phenomenal. Each bite was like the fourth of July with explosions of seasonings and spices. I definitely wish there was a location closer to home, but certainly a must stop if I'm ever back this way.
Everything was great. They were out of collard greens but other than that , everything was great to me. I asked for well done oysters but they made all of the oysters for my friends well done also ( they didn't like that) we didnt send them back though, she didnt eat them. One friend didnt realize her shrimp and grits had crawfish sauce ( her mistake) . The waitress was absolutely amazing and her attentiveness was on point. We will be stopping again next month when we go through Alabama
I almost didn't get set down good before my food arrived! That is exceptional! The oysters on the half shell were some of the best I've ever had. We had a party of 6 and our waitress wasn't fazed at all. We also had the shrimp, West Indies Salad, fried catfish, and bacon wrapped shrimp. I didn't go 5 ⭐ on atmosphere because the place can be a bit loud and was hard to talk.
This was my first time at Wintzell's - and I absolutely loved it!
The Best chargrilled oysters EVER! Everything we ordered was delicious. Our waitress Lauren was the sweetest ????southern belle, too. Next visit to Alabama, we will Definitely will be back!
