Love these oysters! Get the sampler! We hit this place twice while traveling because it was fantastic. They even had a tender perfectly cooked steak which is oddly hard to find. Comfortable spacious atmosphere. The kids menu even includes a scoop of ice cream if they finish their meal which makes your life that little bit easier.
On our way south, we stopped for lunch . Tiffany was our waitress ????she's fast, friendly, and on the ball.
We had fish tacos and fried chicken salad .
Oh, and check out the oysters ????
Everything was great but... if you cannot eat spicy foods, don't order the collard greens. Ordered salmon with side salad and collard greens. The salmon had a spicy sauce but it came on the side. No notice that collard greens would be spicy. Other than that great
Waitress forgot crab cakes, meals where almost finished before getting them. Prices high for the portion size. Not a fan of Reese's peanut butter pie. Tasted nothing like a Reese's peanut butter cup
My girlfriend and I stopped to eat at Wintzell’s this evening. We travel the country weekly and try new places that seem to be hot spots in the areas we are in. We were on our towards Mobile, AL when we come across Wintzell’s on Google. Wasn’t sure if we could get in because we are truck drivers. To our surprise there was a big parking lot across from them. So if you drive truck and want good food outside of the standard garbage they serve in truck stops. We highly recommend this place to fellow drivers. The place was clean, friendly and fast. We ordered the fried green tomatoes with a crawdad sauce. It was over the top with flavor!!!! Our entrees was the fried JO with a loaded baked potato and collard greens. Again the flavors were great. The fried catfish well…it left a lot to be desired. Not sure if it was undercooked, overcooked or just a couple bad pieces that slipped through quality control. Service was great so make sure you go in and ask for Shea. Definitely A+. We would definitely stop back here if ever back in the area.
Loved the cool oyster shells in the flower beds. Bartender was the best! Attentive and made me the best drink, I could use about 4 more of those right about now. The oysters were scrumptious and I loved the personalized menu options the local chefs offered. I did however find it to be a bit odd that I was served CLUB crackers with my entree. I’ve eaten my share of oysters and never before have I not had a saltine cracker to plop that baby on top of but I made do and it was a pleasurable experience.
Stopped for some oysters on our way back from Gulf Shores. The chargrilled oysters were excellent. Hard pass on the cheddar and Jalapeño oysters. Good beer selection - I went with the Oyster City stout and it was good. They do charge 3.5% for using a card vs. cash - I see more businesses doing this.
Wow, I was blown away by this place! Moved here from Florida, and the food and the drinks, which had alcohol compared to Orlando restaurants, were terrific. The food was amazing, atmosphere was very nice. Bar has very nice setup and will be sitting there next time. All the employees we interacted with were nice and helpful.
