The atmosphere and vibe: 10/10
Beautiful lake view and sunset. ????
The restaurant was big. Lots of tables and seating.
Service: 11/10 - our server Kimie went above and beyond. I honestly can say she is the most attentive and friendliest waitress I’ve encounters in a while. If it wasn’t for her, I would have given this place 3 out of 5 stars.
(The host however was nowhere to be seen. The couple in front of us left after waiting bc no one was at the desk)
Location: 10 out of 10
Food: 4-5 out of 10
I’m sorry, but the raw oysters were not fresh at all and 2 of the 6 I ordered (half dozen) were bad. The grilled oysters samplers were bad as well. Maybe they can get away with it around here but unfortunately, since I am an oyster lover and have my fair share of oysters, all the oysters I ate tonight wasn’t it for me. I have never wasted or have leftover oysters before but tonight I could not get myself to eat all the samplers and I spit out the two raw that were bad. The fried pickles were good though 5/5, shrimp and grits 3/5, and Corn & Crab Bisque 2/5
Wintzell's has been around as long as I can remember, and I've eaten at several different locations, but it's been several years since I've visited one. Visiting this one in Guntersville was a delight and reminded of the other good experiences I've had in the past. A great, casual atmosphere, good service, great menu selection, and excellent food! The fresh oysters were outstanding, the fried shrimp were perfectly, lightly battered and fried. The Blackberry Cobbler finished everything perfectly! I'll eat at Wintzell's any chance that I have.
We started with the oyster sampler, which was better than a lot that I've had at other places. All of the entrees were fresh and cooked well. I'll definitely return the next time I'm in the area. It's right on the water which is another nice feature.
The food and customer experience is mediocre. I ordered the low country broil. It was brought in a bag that was supposed to keep it hot but it was lukewarm. I only ate some of the shrimp, corn and 1 potato. No flavor. I asked for extra flavor???? The lady waitress servicing the other tables was awesome. I wish I had her. My waitress didn't even ask me if I wanted dessert, he just brought the ticket. I also recommend just getting water because the tea isn't good. I should have stuck with char grilled oysters like I order in Mobile.
This is the 4th time that we've had dinner here. The service is always friendly and makes you feel welcome. Smoked tuna dip is one of the best and the crouton crackers are very fresh and light. Oysters are always good, steak is cooked as ordered, the fried grouper is lightly breaded and a large portion. The drinks are kinda pricey, but the strawberry margaritas are a must.
Wonderful experience. Our server paid special attention to our daughter who was upset. She made our experience wonderful. The foos was delicious. We will be back hopefully soon. We wish our server the very best and pray that she is blessed. She should definitely be rewarded with some chocolate cake. It was delightful!
Live visiting and eating at a place I worked over 15 years ago food and service still excellent!
I came into Wintzell’s yesterday, I had never eaten there but heard good things about the food and service from other friends. I came in kind of early, I didn’t have any idea of what was good or what to get. My server was Angel, she was so upbeat and spunky. She told me all about the menu, she was very informative and really knew her stuff. I ordered the fried pickles and Cajun seafood pasta and unfortunately didn’t have room for dessert! I will definitely be back ! The food was great, But I must mention my server one more time, her name was Angel and she was the absolute best server I have ever had hands down!
