Best WLM Reviews

The location and size of the room is great for the price they charge, but staff goes home at 8:00, so you're on your own after that. The free breakfast isn't served 'til 8:00, so this hotel seems more designed to cater to to guests who are staying for a few days and not just stopping on route to another destination, on a tight schedule.
The layout of the room is very strange. The sink is right in front of the beds, and the room is so massive, yet they couldn't find room to put a table and a chair. We bought pizza and had to eat it sitting on the bed, which wasn't very comfortable. Even the most basic motels always have at least a small table and a chair. In addition, the bathroom light was extremely dim. Couldn't figure out how to work the coffee maker. It's clear this property is old and hasn't been updated. It's okay for one night, but not for a long term stay. Staff is friendly though and the area is very safe. You don't even need to lock your car and they also have bicycles on the property.
Stayed here a total of 3 times with less services and amenities each time. We stayed here last December and tonight and both times the hot tub has been broken with no intentions to repair it. I don’t see how they can list “hot tub” as an amenity when it’s never functional.
I’m a bit torn on this one. The staff is very friendly and the hotel, although older, is mostly clean. As someone who travels frequently, there are some things that this hotel doesn’t meet the basics on. Security being the biggest one. The room door has a code you get at check-in that opens the lock. Once inside the room, you can latch the door, but anyone with that code can open it from the hallway. When leaving the room, you have to hit the lock button, otherwise your room will be open for anyone who checks the door. My biggest concern is control of those codes. The code sheet for every room was left out on the front desk unattended at least twice. I edited the pic so the upcoming days codes for all of the rooms were not shown. Another security concern is the sliding door to the deck. This door has no way of being latched and requires a bar mounted mid way on the frame to be dropped into place. This bar does not fall into any type of holder and does not sit level to secure the door. Besides the security issues, there’s no iron, ironing board, hair dryer, or USB outlets. There is one electrical outlet on the sink wall (in the bed room) across from the beds so no charging phones on the nightstand. The closet space is taken up by a refrigerator and microwave in it with an electrical setup that makes one cringe. The bathroom ceiling and walls have hairs and lots of dead bugs stuck to them. All that being said, this is a small town in the mountains and seems to be par for the area. This is definitely not a Hilton, Marriott, or any one of the big name chains, but is an okay place to stay if you don’t have expectations for a full amenity room. I marked service as three stars because of the lack of control over the room codes. They were super friendly.
I stayed here for the Rhythm & Blues Festival. I get that places mark up their prices but come on. The price was definitely not worth it.
The room was very clean and spacious. It was pretty hot out so it was nice to check into a nice cool room.
Staff seemed friendly from the limited interaction I had. Continental type breakfast was included.
There was no pool or spa, they appear to have been taken partially apart and left to rust in view. Keep in mind, this is an older inn so you will hear your neighbors tv and, if downstairs, people walking upstairs. I wore earplugs which helped.
Overall, not a bad stay just not worth the exorbitant prices for the weekend. It might have been worth it if the pool and spa were in working order or there were more updated features.
A good hotel for the price in Winthrop. The beds are comfortable, the room was clean and the shower did the trick. Its in a great location, close to the grocery store and a pizza place. The walls are a little thin, but once you get to sleep it's not bad at all. Would definitely use again when in need of a place to stay in Winthrop.
I had to click when I went in order for this review to allow it to go through… I DID NOT get to stay there due to forest fire and closed route 20 in which was a requirement for us to meet our prepaid locations/events! Also it would be 5/6hr run around for us to just stay there (unable to access our north cascades destinations) due to road closures and the routes we had to use to make our trip work. This route was not closed until AFTER the cut off point of the hotel allowing refunds. This is considered a Natural Disaster ( the public has no control over this!) In cases like these refunds absolutely should be given! Life is expensive as is and to be out this much money($454) because they won’t allow a refund even for natural disaster/“no detour “ road closure, is absurd. All they see in you is money, they do not actually value you as a human being. They office manger was highly rude and unprofessional and talking down to me and even stated “ I don’t have time to help you, and when I do find the email that your booking company needs for me to confirm a refund for it will be a “ NO” this conversation accrued Sep. 2, 2024. Also when you try to get up with the hotel either phone call/email they don’t respond, hold the phone without answering and hang up, that is if the phone number even works/goes through. We tried to get up with them for almost a month awaiting response to emails from the booking company and phones from both them and us as well. DON’T give this place your business, they do people dirty, I have read other reviews of how they have done people.
The room smelled of smoke even the reception area. We asked for a better room but they politely refused and said it's fully booked, which seemed to be true. Having no other option, we decided to stay. Didn't bother bringing any luggage to the room. Heating was not sufficient. We were cold the entire night and couldn't sleep. The wonky toilet window once opened, didn't shut back, making it chillier. It's pretty old and badly needs maintenance. Wanted to forget this whole experience but we saw Aurora Borealis from here that night and now that memory is tied to this establishment forever. The balcony was pretty dusty with two old plastic chairs and blinding lights, but that's where I caught the first glimpse of the Aurora right after sunset. We tried going somewhere else to watch the Aurora but the best view was from in front of the motel.
Stayed when deer hunting season started. Classic example of supply and demand when demand causes the price of a so-so hotel to skyrocket. Staff was very nice, room is clean albeit old, and check in/out is very efficient. But the walls are paper thin. Heard one neighbor’s TV and the other neighbor’s conversations and it’s not like they were screaming at each other. The breakfast started at 8:30 am. Why bother. As hikers were out of there by then. There was a Keurig coffee maker in the room.
