This place was amazing. The shuttle system was really easy and I enjoyed their restaurant, hot tubs, and staff. They have 24 hour reception so when I needed anything, they were on top of things. Their bar is clean. I loved our view and proximity to the mountain without having to pay ski on ski off prices.
Loved this lodge! My partner and I wanted a bit of a last minute get away and I was able to get us a room day of for only $151. I thought that was super affordable especially considering it was the day of.
The in house restaurant was delicious. The location of the lodge is great! It's in it's own area away from the buzz but still very close to the Gondola and the town of winter park itself. Access to free shuttle transportation, Beautiful view of the slopes and mountains, and I really loved eating dinner on the balcony during sunset.
The free breakfast was delicious, not many complaints as it was free, I just would have loved to see pancakes there.
The pool, hot tub and sauna area was kind of lacking, the pool was pretty cold and the sauna was out of service. However, the hot tubs were nice.
Overall, I would definitely stay here again, I felt super safe, and it was a perfect balance of romanic and scenic, in a casual way.
1. When researching the hotel, we could not reach them by phone for questions. The line would ring three times and then stop. I made several tries over the course of a few hours.
2. The reservation number quotes higher prices then what is listed on the website and provides conflicting amenities information. One room would include a refrigerator and breakfast while another of the same size in the same hotel would not have either.
2. The amenities information in the rooms was inaccurate.
- Restaurant and pool hours state they are open until 10:00 p.m, but both were closed prior to that time, and immediately after breakfast. I just found updated restaurant hours/information on the website - which you don't typically visit when using a third party vendor - but nothing related to the pool hours.
- There is no movie/game room nor do they offer popcorn.
- There was no mouthwash in the room, and the shampoo and conditioner were different brands. Body wash should be offered as an alternative as the soap bars did not rinse off well (and not everybody can use them).
3. There was no drink vending machine on the third floor. When I brought it up at checkout, I was told they were aware - which conflicted with what we were told at check-in. What we got from the food vending machine was sticky.
4. After checking out, I was directed to the first floor for ice, only to find the first two floors required a key card - which she knew I had already turned in.
5. Neither of the two front desk concierge we interacted with were very customer service focused or friendly.
We just stayed for 3 days. Let me begin by saying do not set your expectations on the pics on the website. The holtel is in a great spot, beautiful views, quiet and safe. The hotel is old, and the whole place needs paint, floors and new furniture. While we stayed, we saw housekeeping thoroughly cleaning each room, so the rooms were clean, but old. The staff is great. Super friendly and helpful. We did sit in the hot tubs, they were nice after a day of hiking. Pool was clean. And views are spectacular. So go ahead and book a stay, knowing its an olddr place that needs a remodel, which i was told was happening this fall.
Wonderful staff at the hotel, everyone we encountered was extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel on itself is great for the price, it has authentic alpine town feel to it, however the rooms are much overdue a quality cleaning. The carpet looks so soiled, i had to wear shoes inside. The pillows have yellow spots underneath the pillow case and there is a strong smell of dampness in the bathroom. If those things to be fixed this would’ve been a hotel to come back to.
We had to wait 45 minutes after check in to get into my room because it wasn't ready. The carpet needed to be cleaned a long time ago. It was a comfy room for the price. With the exception of the bathroom floor was dirty. It was quiet though. The hot tubs were big and nice and hot. The views from the pool/ hotub area were beautiful. We will definitely stay here again.
The room came with free breakfast which was part of the reason I booked. The chef failed to report to work and no other employee had the code to access the food and serve it. When I asked the front desk if there would be a fix for breakfast the following morning in case the chef failed to come again the front desk clerk proceeded to tell me about the breakfast burritos they sale and offered me recommendations for places in town Although I had mentioned the that the free breakfast was one of the reasons we selected this specific hotel. It seems it would've been appropriate to offer to comp the guests one of the burritos they sold or at least offered a discount
The hotel feels like a Best Western. The sheets looked like they hadn’t been changed. There was hair all over the sheets and pillows. Sheets also had stains on them. You can tell their rooms are not cleaned well. The floor was not vacuumed. The pool was very cold. Be careful of tile around the pool, it’s very slippery.
