Mouthful of dumplings, hot porridge are the key highlights in Winsor Dim Sum Cafe. The portion is decent and price is reasonable. Tastes close to Cantonese dim Sum. I have to admitted it is a surprise with the speed of serving the hot dish. Long queue ahead in the morning and limited seats. I would return when I back to the town
so yummy ???? me and my friends got the soup dumplings, chinese broccoli, thousand egg porridge, bean curd, roast pork buns, custard buns, and short ribs with black bean sauce! the porridge was excellent, the broccoli was a little oily but had a great crunch, the bean curd was satisfying, the pork was delicious although difficult to get off the bone, and the roast pork buns were fluffy and delicious. custard buns were a bit dry, and the soup dumplings were good but overall not memorable. overall, the bill came out to $80 which was a good amount for three people.
Windsor Dim Sum Cafe: Dim Sum Delights in a Cozy Setting
When it comes to satisfying my dim sum cravings, Windsor Dim Sum Cafe is my pick. This spot has its charm, offering a good selection of dim sum that hits the right notes.
The menu boasts a variety of dim sum options, showcasing the kitchen's dedication to delivering authentic flavors. Each bite is a taste of traditional dim sum goodness.
However, it's important to note that while the dim sum is commendable, the restaurant itself is on the smaller side. The cozy setting may not provide the grand dim sum experience you'd find in larger establishments in the area.
For those seeking a satisfying dim sum fix without the need for a sprawling setting, Windsor Dim Sum Cafe is a worthy choice. Just keep in mind that for the ultimate dim sum experience, you might want to explore other options in the area.
First things first, they’ve stopped requiring a minimum amount for credit card purchases. I’ve been to Windsor Dim Sum for take out a few times now when I’ve wanted dim sum for dinner. They do a very good job with the standards. Siu Mai are solid. Tofu skin rolls are very good. Deep fried pork dumplings are also good. Sesame balls are first rate. I will say that the food is not heavily seasoned, but the textures and the preparations are spot on. So it’s possible the reviews that complain that the food is tasteless are looking for a less traditional experience - IMHO. Service isn’t warm and fuzzy, but if you’re friendly to the staff, they’ll be courteous to you. And the atmosphere is pure Chinatown. So for take out dim sum, Windsor is worth the trip.
Tasty dim sum. Their buns and dumplings are on point. The chow fun we ordered could have been a little more flavorful. Also, as other reviewers have said, they do immediately give you a pot of tea that you are then charged for. All in all though, yummy food in Chinatown.
Just wow. Dim sum is as good as the ones back in NYC. Nothing I could complain about—typical Chinese restaurant, dinky, but the food is great. A must-try is their molten egg yolk bun!
Will be coming back :)
We had an incredible experience. Coming in right before they shut the kitchen, they were very hospitable and let us make the last order for the evening. They proceeded to bring out complementary extra food that we had not ordered. The chef himself brought them out. The hospitality was over the top. It was a great place to have dinner with my mom. Thank you!
Windsor Dim Sum Cafe located at 10 Tyler St, Boston, MA 02111 is a good Chinese Dim Sum restaurant, but their credit card minimum is completely unacceptable- $40 minimum!! They could easily lose their credit card ability if I complained to Mastercard. I have 200,000 plus view to my reviews/photos daily.
It is strictly against credit card holders to impose any minimum charge amount - that is a fact!
Besides, that the food is very delicious! Excellent, spring roll and shrimp, dumplings, nice and large and exceptional. But you should take credit cards regardless of the amount…. Have a service charge if necessary.
