This is a very busy area in the West End of Richmond. Huge Short Pump mall about a mile away.
Lovely decor in the front entrance, with a double-sided fireplace that serves the lobby with a seating area and for the breakfast tables in the morning.
Room is kinda weird with the queen beds separated pretty far from each other and random lamps. But whatever, it works.
They have a full hot breakfast downstairs with scrambled eggs, link sausage, waffle iron setup, bagel warmer, cream cheese, yogurt, cereal, oatmeal, milk, coffee, juice, etc.
We will definitely stay here again if we're in the area.
I attended a holiday event in Short Pump area , so 3 min from my venue/shopping was perfect… front desk customer friendly, bed was very comfortable plus there was a bath mat for shower????????The room could use a long length mirror, only mirror was in the bathroom over the sink. My only gripe is with housekeeping “claiming” not to have found my faux fur jacket I left behind the back of a chair, especially since I only wore it once for the event & put it back on the hanger in a plastic bag covering. Either someone has themselves a jacket or housekeeping doesn’t clean & go behind the furniture as they should. Next time I’ll make sure to put my things in my car after I using them.
Decent experience! Amenities were minimal, breakfast was ok and parking was decent as well. The location was perfect and the bed was comfy! The later checkout time was appreciated. It served the purpose during my stay and wasn't too expensive!
Positive: The convenience to everywhere that we planned to shop while in Richmond. We felt it was a safe location as well and in a very pretty location. Also, when we return from our shopping late evening, there was canisters of fresh coffee in the lobby. Negative: The only negative that I could say is that the air vent in our room made quite a bit of noise throughout the night and I couldn?t figure out how to cut it down so that it would shut off. But the temperature of the room stayed comfortable all night long
Check in was easy and a good experience. The hotel is centrally located near great shopping and dining. Our room had a newly renovated bathroom! Finally, a shower stall! No ugly tub! The bed was comfortable. The A/C was loud and didn't cool the room. If you're doing renovations the HVAC should be included, one would think.
Overall a good location, and not a bad stay. I'm just not happy having to check out just to check back in during your stay when you have a free night, then a paid night when you already have confirmation and have given them all personal info and payment info. It was so stupid and time-consuming
We have a family event that happens around this time every year. I fell in love with this hotel and location near our event. This is my third year in a row staying at this hotel and it has never disappointed. Shout to the staff that keeps this establishment in tact and clean keep up the great work. Also travelers do your part and help with the cleanliness, they have plenty of rooms to clean and turn after visitors. Check in/out was very easy and the staff were very nice, clean, respectable, friendly and helpful. The beds and pillows are clean, and neatly folded and placed on the beds, great fluffy pillows, fresh fresh linens and towels to use. The rooms are spacious, nice, and clean, clean bathroom and travel’s size items are in the room like soap, shampoo, conditioner etc. The breakfast is on point every time. Travelers I highly recommend this Wingate by Wyndam for any of your travels stays. Plenty of eating and shopping amenities in this location.
To be fair, they are in the middle of complete renovations. The construction workers were polite and as clean and quiet as they could be. They have done floors 5 and 4, and floor 3 will be starting in a few weeks. Having said that, the rooms were big, the mattress was extremely thick. They need bigger sheets. There was a fridge and microwave and coffee pot and safe. Updates are definitely needed. I'll stop there. The night staff was nice but never went that extra step to make you feel welcome. Even though the website says breakfast is down the street, it was in the mini restaurant across from the lobby. Standard breakfast buffet. It served it's purpose. They have a pool. It is within walking distance of Short Pump Mall. Because of its location, I would go back. It would be nice to see it after all the renovations.
