Best WLM Reviews

Disappointed very much! Disgusting and Unhygienic hotel of the city. 1. Both of smoke and carbon monoxide detectors were completely unplugged and missing from my room number 118. (Huge safety concern) 2. A big cockroach was on the wall towards the ceiling. (Unhygienic and Dirty rooms and wet stinky carpet). 3. An electrical socket was uncovered and huge safety concerns for families with younger kids. (Unsafe). 4. Paint in shower was peeling off and falling in the tub! Unhygienic shower. Will Never ever not ever going to book this hotel.
Don't stay here, not worth the money you save. You won't be able to sleep. The positive reviews have to have been bought.
Cockroaches in the room, terrible smells, dirty rooms everything sticky, broken furniture, toilet so dirty and everything looking gross.... couldn't sleep worried the roaches with come to the bed, couldn't cover myself with sheets as they were dirty, the smell in the room made me sick, the walls are paper thin and felt like other guests where walking in our room and the windows face the big motorway with very old windows with no sound proof you'll hear the cars like you're in the motorway...
If it was safe to do so I would've slept better (or at all) in the car but it's a very dodgy looking neighbourhood
I had a quiet, okish stay at the Wingate by Wyndham, and the airport shuttle was very convenient. However, the breakfast buffet was disappointing, and I had to switch rooms initially due to a strong urine odor. The second room was better, but I encountered roaches in the lobby later. Might stay again but only for a night or so. Definitely check the room before moving in. Smell of weed in hallways.
Arrived here on a Friday evening only to be told that our room had been canceled. I ask the desk clerk who canceled it and she wouldn't say anything. Not only that, they were all booked up with no rooms available. Luckily the couple we were traveling with had a room to two beds and we were able to stay with them. Then in the bathroom there was a dead cockroach and hair in the sink. the halls smelled like skunk marijuana. I would avoid this hotel like the plague.
A complete review as follows, note that l did not have a car and used airport shuttle to and fro. I stayed in the king "suite" bedroom:
PROS:
Value priced, close to airport, good staff ( which includes Front Desk, maintenance guy, and shuttle driver ), good AC in room, fridge in room, capable enough wifi, large ( and from my 2 night experience ) a pretty quiet room. Bed was fairly decent- no discomfort, gym looked small but sufficient - I didn't use it. Plenty of ice near lobby. A lot of TV channels.
CONS:
This is obviously an older building and a " work in progress ", which it definitely needs. Read to the end.
Cheap, smaller screen TV with wires all over the place in my room required manual adjustment every time you turned it on to get a signal- l initially had to have maintenance guy come and show me how because I assure you that you won't figure it out unless he does. A weird, very low toilet seat, and the toilet bowl had a crack in it. The toilet never actually functioned properly as well, even after the maintenance guy came back and " fixed it" the best he could. Definitely an older shower and bath, although "clean" it was somehow also dingy at the same time. There was a hole where the up/down drain lever used to be in the forward part of the bathtub. Had a bathroom sink that drained like chilled molasses. Plenty of older furniture in the room- with misaligned dresser drawers, top drawer didn't open at all, and the middle one didn't want to close completely. If you happen to be OCD this room might drive you nuts ( just sayin). Not a great continental breakfast, but it sufficed for the budget conscious. Your option is the Waffle House next door. Not a great pool or surrounding pool environment with beat up furniture and planes flying closely over your head. No thank you, no swimming 4 me. Mandatory charge for early check in, although granted l was very early due to flight change with hurricane Milton so it was what it was- and I shouldn't complain about that- just giving you a heads up that extenuating circumstances never matter. Also fyi, it's $25 to check out 1 hour late. Again just a heads up. Not the greatest neighborhood, a couple sketchy people here and there- I mostly stayed inside.. You can forget about a grocery store or drug stores anywhere in walking distance. But You can walk to a couple restaurants.
Summary: All in all I personally would never stay in this hotel again. However for the situation I was put in I made do. In addition l would have definitely expected more from a Wyndham property for sure- as well as from other reviewers given some of the other reviews l had read. But to be honest I haven't stayed in a Wyndham for a 15 years or so, so l guess times change. And I don't believe I have ever stayed in a "Wingate" property, and probably never will again. But because of the run down feeling of the property itself and in particular the room and facility environment I would absolutely not rate this any higher than two stars for most Travelers- at best. Usually don't have time to write long reviews but today I did, and l hope that this helps future Travelers- but I am one that does not prefer surprises and there were plenty.
This hotel has been one of the best hotels Ive stayed at they are very kind, the breakfast is always fresh, and Ms Emma and Her manager always made sure I had everything my family and I needed they are very attentive and they are very kind.
The staff and manager are wonderful! They truly know how to care for their guests. I can share that they are attentive and proactive in making their guests enjoy their stay. Thank you so much for the pleasant experience! They were quick and flexible in accommodating my needs and requests. Great value, convenient location, and comfortable rooms! I highly recommend this hotel!
We booked this hotel over a month ago. My husband and son were due at the airport today at 11a. We get a call at 808am today that our reservation is cancelled for “maintenance”. When I asked why, the rep was very rude and absolutely clueless. I’ve been on the phone with Expedia for 90 minutes trying to find them a room. Absolute disaster! . I will never book with them again. They are extremely unprofessional
