The location was great, but the service was not. I came for four nights for my birthday and my room went untouched by room service. I arrived on a Thursday evening and requested my room to be cleaned on Friday. On Saturday, I had to request my room to be cleaned again. My room was only cleaned one time, on Friday. I used the same towels, took out trash daily, ran out of toilet paper, and made my bed daily. I didn't pay for my stay to clean up after myself. Room service is paid for and included as part of a hotel stay. When I called to speak to the manager today, he said to me, "Oh, room service doesn't mean they clean your room daily. They may only replenish the towels. Did you ask them to clean your room?" 1. Room service shouldn't have to be requested. 2. I went to the front desk twice and my room still went untouched. 3. This is terrible service and management. Any paying customer should have their concerns heard and taken into account. I was not heard nor were my concerns addressed. That's unacceptable and unheard of. Nobody should have to use unclean linens and sleep in unclean linens while staying away for a vacation. Hopefully, this is taken into consideration for future guests.
I very much enjoyed my stay at this location. My room was very spacious, clean, and modern. My stay was very quiet, which I really appreciated. I do wish breakfast included something hot like eggs, sausage, or a waffle maker. But other than that, I still must give this hotel a 5 star review because of how safe and comfortable I felt during my stay. The guy at the front desk, Randy, was very nice and helpful and went above and beyond with making my time at Wingate a great stay! I definitely plan to stay here again in the future!
The only good thing about this hotel was the comfy bed/sheets and the location. The bathroom is an absolute nightmare and not to mention i have 8 roaches just this morning (it’s been 2 hours) and found where they are crawling out of the walls. There is mold in the bathroom and our room has a smell i can only describe as food that has been left out for several days. Not forgetting the lobby and hallways that ALWAYS smell like smoke and weed. As a frequent visitor to the area and a top tier Wyndham member I’m extremely disappointed.
I will note that the room itself is quite nice. The floors and decor is new and updated - but you painting over dirt and the shower peeling doesn’t even touch the price you have this place listed at. More like a shady super 8 on the side of the highway.
The location was the only good thing about this hotel! It is near lots of restaurants and stores. The hotel staff was not friendly. The hotel floors were consistently dirty and sticky. When we got to our room we found the mini fridge open, which I shut. Later that caused it to leak all over our floor. The front desk didn’t seem to care. The comforter on one of the beds had quite a large black stain on the inside of it. The bathroom was just a mess. The bathtub looked like it had all kind of terribly done “repairs” and things done to it. The toilet seat desperately needed to be replaced. There were multiple black spots all over the walls in the bathroom. The free “breakfast” was a joke. First morning we went down there was a piece of white toast a few mini muffins and Cheerios out. The one thing I forgot to get a picture of was the pool. But if was nasty. There is no way I would have gotten in that thing! It was cloudy and had leaves and debris all in it. And it was 90 degrees while we were there so people definitely were still wanting to swim. Oh, and the elevator certification showed it expired 5 months ago, I sure hope they have gotten it done and just not put the new certificate up but by the sounds those elevators were making I wouldn’t doubt it.
Positive: "" Negative: Ac didn't work good... run and then turn off... but finally figured out the window could open so that saved the night of sleep because it was cool outside. Bed was horrible big dip in the middle and made a bunch of noise. Plus the hotel was loud.
Horrible. Roaches, Mold, sunken bed, bathtub peeling paint, paint chips in tub. Noise all night people standing in hallway. We definetley picked the wrong Hotel this time. Ive been trying to reach management again. No respond. Desk clerks keep saying Tomorrow After telling me no more rooms available. Then manager sends an email saying that my feedback is invaluable. WARNING! STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL! WARNING!
We were traveling for a funeral. We checked in around 12:30am. We slept for a few hours and got up to get ready. I went to take a shower and the water backed up in the tub. This was very nasty to say the least. My sister decided not to shower because of this. Upon check out we stopped at the desk to report the issue. The lady at the desk stated that she was the AGM. She showed no empathy nor did she offer anything to us. We were in a hurry so I didn’t spend time arguing with her: All did say was take her card and email her pictures. As a former GM for Marriott I know this is not how you treat your guest.
The night audit gentleman was very pleasant on the other hand.
The only decent thing about this place is the surrounding convenience of places to eat. The staff at the front desk is absolutely horrible. They are so rude and will not accommodate you at all. The beds are terrible , roaches are so bad in the rooms. The rooms need a lot of updating and maintenance. They would not accommodate and make right for any of the issues such as the shower faucet being broken , roaches crawling on you while you sleep, the smell of drugs were so strong and bad and they said they could do nothing about that. When we requested to speak to the manager of the hotel we were informed by front desk that they spoke with the manager and the manager stated that he did not need to speak with us. The absolute worst customer service we’ve ever seen. The pool is absolutely disgusting and the breakfast the advertise consists of old bread,cereal ,and yogurt. There is literal Mold in the bathrooms . I would NOT STAY HERE AT ALL.
